Re: Official Team USA Thread
I agree on the GK situation, why do we ALWAYS have to have Howard out there? GK is literally the only position where we have legitimate high level depth...and we run out Howard for every friendly, qualifier, WC or whatever game. Give Guzan a chance or Hahneman (I know I spelled that wrong...).
Zusi is a good connect the dots guy in the MLS, I think he can play on an international level but not all that well.
Beas makes no sense. He won't be playing in the next WC so why is he even included? Beckerman is a step slow mentally for high level football, get him away from my squad.
I like our wingbacks, but where is Lichaj? Injured or something? And I thought Orozco played his way out of the squad?
Looks like all of our depth is in midfield, with decent options in Williams, Shea, Edu, Torres, Jones and Zusi. I'd like to see Williams, Shea, Jones and Torres with Donovan playing CF and Boyd up top. He's earned it.

The CB options are random to say the least.

Well, can we really do much worse than Oguchi Onyewu and Jay Demerit?

Beckerman and Beasley better not see the pitch, and I'm still not sold on Wondo doing anything of value at a national team level.
Overall, **** squad. Williams/Shea on the wings should be kinda exciting though.
I'm thinking he's hoping to get a shot with the German NT, but I doubt he gets it in the next year, and at that point he needs to start getting integrated into the US team to be ready for the WC.

Edu at CB makes all kinds of sense.
I f****ng HATE beckerman. Why the hell does he play so often!? At least Jurgen has seen the greatness that is Torres, our diminutive beast mode mid.

Re: Official Team USA Thread
if we have Edu, we dont need Beckerman
i think they play the exact same role
if we are NOT going to use Edu for a game
its so we have a different formation or are using different tactics
so there is no need for Beckerman
especially, since we need to find CBs FBs and Wingers for the future

Re: Official Team USA Thread
I would've rather seen Beitashour at RB than Orozco but I can understand since Orozco has experience playing at Azteca, though I'm sure Beitashour will get a shot in the 2nd half. I'm not a Beckerman fan either but its clear that Klins likes his work rate. With no Onyewu, Goodson, or Bocanegra at CB, it's Cameron's turn to shine. I think if he performs good, he could possibly leap Goodson and pair with Bocanegra in the WCQ's.

GS Warriors 1
agreed on Beitashour over Orozco
i though Orozco played himself OFF the team
but, him, Castillo, Gomez, Corona, Beasley will probably all get time
because they play in leagues in Mexico
imo, thats NOT a good reason to bring them for this match
i want their to b continuity for this team
if our A guys cant make it
the B guys are next and make the starts and get the playing time
if some of those guys cant make it
we need to bring the young guy in
not beasley, not gordon
and not guys who played their way OFF the team (castillo, fizcal)

Re: Official Team USA Thread
I like what I've seen of Corona, could be an interesting player down the road. Castillo looks more like a midfielder to me, I think that's what he plays more for his club than LB but the U.S. puts him there because the depth past Johnson is quite bare.
Beas has played well since arriving in Mexico last year but I'm not sure if he gets into the match tonight, could be down to him or Shea. I don't think Shea deserved a call because he's been so inconsistent this season but we are missing some pieces, so he's in. I wouldn't mind seeing him on the field because he did well against Mexico in the last friendly and the hope would be that he could make that type of impact off the bench.

ugh...The ball just wouldnt go in for Chicharito tonight. Congrats on the win USA. I think Beckerman had a great game though, dude gets to much hate for getting picked all the time.

Jermaine Jones sucks without Bradley holding his hand. The amount of times he gave up the ball in his own half was disgusting.
Boyd has good work rate

Great win for the U.S. This should bring the non rational Mexican fans back to reality after the Olympics. Notice I said non rational, not all of the Mexican fans. Just the homeristic ones

Cameron should be a lock starter from this point forward.

He was our best in Midfield by far. Jones was 'meh'...Torres was nowhere to be seen...I expected more out of Williams and seen him play much better than he did tonight.
