Why Melky?! Why?! Cabrera Out 50 Games

Post#1 » by Nicky Nix Nook » Wed Aug 15, 2012 7:18 pm

The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that San Francisco Giants outfielder Melky Cabrera has received a 50-game suspension without pay after testing positive for Testosterone, a performance-enhancing substance in violation of Major League Baseball’s Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

The suspension of Cabrera is effective immediately.

Jesus Christ.

I'm not losing hope, because our offense was worse in '10, but **** me sideways it's going to be torture again.

What a douche.

What an f-ing dick. I guess the "Melkmen" and "Melkmaids" will have to find jobs now. I don't give a crap about Melky personally, but this really screws the Giants season. Can they void his contract for this? I also have to wonder if they can take away his All-Star MVP award for it.

Yeah, good point, with him missing the rest of the season I guess there's nothing to be done. Good luck getting a fat contract after this though.

Man, the Giants have been EXTREMELY lucky with their contracts lately. Timmy turned down a HUGE extension in the off season, only to have a terrible season. The Giants wanted to sign Melky to a $8-12M type deal, and he turned it down to wait until the offseason. He'll be lucky to get a $2-4M deal now, so that's good news for the Giants. Doubt he'll be back next year now, though

Anyone saying the Giants season is toast is jumping the gun. Especially considering there's still 9 games left with the Dodgers and they have the tougher September schedule.

Why .. Why .. :-?

I've never understood why these guys take PEDs, eventually you'll get caught and you've fooled yourself and most importantly the fans

The question now is should we put an asterisk next to Matt Cain's perfect game? Without Melky's preforming enhancing ability to catch and hit the ball in that perfect game, Matt Cain probably wouldn't have gotten that win over the Astros that day.

The Matt Cain perfect game is tainted now. You know it and we know it. When we look into the history book 50 years from now, are we going to say Matt Cain won that perfect game fair and square without any PED involved. NO. Melky's selfish action ruined the reputation of SF Giants and his teammates. Do we want him back next season and in the post season? No, no, AND NO.

Might as well put a tainted * next to every single game in the MLB, since apparently there's been at least 100-200 MLB players in the league per year who have been taking drugs.
