Orlando Magic Willing To Absorb Deals For Picks (Rip?)

Post#1 » by boogydown » Thu Aug 16, 2012 3:09 pm

Brian K. Schmitz ‏@MagicInsider
Magic, armed with $17 million exception after Howard deal, hope to acquire more draft picks from teams shipping players, trying to avoid tax

Will be interesting to see what Jerry does here.

Giving up a pick to stay under the tax would be the cherry on top of our **** sundae of an offseason :-?
Constantly underwhelmed by the Bulls.

But Boogy, you said it was impossible that the Bulls would move Rip to get under the tax.

Unless its two second rounders I say no. This first rounder will be the highest we had in years. Can't lose it

I said "unlikely" for many reasons, not "impossible".

Orlando does it if you take Vucevic out.

It's not about Hamilton, it's about them getting a pick. They will take 1 year guys if they can stock pile on picks.

Too bad they don't need a PG, we could include Teague somehow.

Or instead of Vucevic go for Harper.

We're not getting anything of substance back for Rip unless he has a renaissance to end all renaissances between now and Feb.

If they are willing to do it Rip & 1st rd pick for Justin Harper might be what goes down.

That's what I was thinking. They drafted a stretch 4 in Nicholson, so they might be willing to let Harper go.

If it does happen there is no way any defenders of the FO (and there are some on here) can say anything but "Jerry is cheap".

I can live with a 2nd rounder but hell to the naw if its a 1st.

This would be a disaster. We really need to keep our pick this season.
