Devos took the best deal, which was cash from the NBA and sponsors. The true best deal is patience and loyalty to your fans. That did not happen. And, the Houston deal was still a better deal. The Magic could have retooled in 2013 with Houston, but put themselves in a longer rebuild program to deal with the Lakers. Devos got paid, that is what happened.
What happened to keeping your insane conspiracies in the official BMP bitching thread? People engage with you expecting actual discussion, then you reply with nonsense... And you wonder why people are annoyed.

And you don't know if waiting would have been better off. You wait too long and teams move on, make other moves and are forced to remove previously offered pieces. Did the trade chips increase significantly at the trade deadline last season before Dwight opted back in? No. People were panicking here. Houston wouldn't even be in the picture once the season started since Dwight would have been a rental. You also have to consider what keeping Dwight for half a season would have done for our lottery chances. It would delay the rebuilding another season and for what? FYI, some analysts said Harkless would have been a lottery pick if he stayed in college another year. Plus Henny actually wanted to draft him over Nicholson. You can't dismiss him as if he's just a throw-in like you've been doing.
