So are we going to implement the "only current head coaches" rule for our coaching selections?
There's no strategy involved in waiting til your last 2 picks and grabbing an assistant coach from some team. We haven't ever really put an emphasis on the coaching aspect in these competitions because of it. If you have to choose one of the 30 current head coaches, you'll want to make sure you snatch up a solid coach, just like you would a solid big man or that starting caliber point guard, before it becomes slim pickens.
We all know how the caliber of coach, and even fit, can change the outlook of a team. It may not be loaded with crazy talent, but since Poppovich is at the helm, he will get the most out of that talent.
Just makes things much easier to judge, as well as putting an emphasis on the coaching portion of this competition. There's no real strategy involved otherwise.
