Kahn has a few screws loose but do you really think he'd ship us Derrick Williams for Marathon Brooks and change? :-(

Let's see if Billy pulls off the ultimate big money moves lol.

Brook for Bogut and then Hump, Brooks, Bogs rights and picks for Amar'e.

So with the D12 dream officially dead...I'd really like it if we could upgrade Avery to SVG.

SVG is a really good coach, totally underrated. He was probably the main reason why D12 developed into a DPOY. Dwight wasn't getting any All-D recognition until SVG became his head coach, and SVG is also the reason why D12 developed into an offensive force as well (the 4 out, 1 in offense has benefitted Dwight greatly).

He always gets his teams to overachieve, and he preaches defense. The only problem is he's kind of "say it how it is", and can get on players' nerves, especially star players. But...we kind of have that now with Avery, and he's nowhere close to the caliber of coach that SVG is.

Are the Nets targeting Blatche as a backup center/PF?

It appears Avery is meeting with him in Texas.

http://offthedribble.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/09/01/nets-show-interest-in-blatche/

I brought this possibility up a while ago. I think it can still work with this revamped team. Blatche will be far from the main option he was supposed to be in DC, and who knows, maybe he'll do well in a limited role....

And if he becomes a solid backup option he can become a trade chip later in the season with a low salary.

We have brought Blatche up several times here. Many of us love the idea (myself included) and many do not.

Just happy the Nets are at least considering him. Whatever happens...happens.

Definitely potential and there is absolutely no reason why we shouldn't give Blatche a serious look at this point...I for one love his upside and if he can get in good shape and stay healthy he could be productive on this current roster in specific situations...

If we had been seriously looking at Hilton Armstrong and Eddy Curry, then yes, please give Blatche a look.

Getting amnestied had to have been a humbling experience, combined with the fact that there hasn't been much interest in him from other teams.

If he can keep his head straight and contribute 15-20 minutes a night with numbers like 10/5, I'm extremely happy with that for the vet's minimum. Also he was once a "quality" starter (I'll use that term loosely) so if something happens to Lopez, he is an acceptable bigman to fill in that spot.

And above all else, if he's not working out or in the Net's future, he can be used as a trade chip.

But if all goes well and he is signed and he's contributing steady numbers, I really like the lineup.

Williams / Watson / Taylor
Johnson / Brooks / Bogans
Wallace / Toko / Stackhouse
Humphries / Teletovic / Evans
Lopez / Blatche

That's a solid second unit too.

Actually, it will most likely look like this:

Williams / Watson / Taylor
Johnson / Brooks / Stackhouse
Wallace / Bogans / Toko
Humphries / Teletovic / Blatche
Lopez / Evans / Blatche

It's pretty good and solid but I'd still want another SF and veteran C for Blatche and some of the other youngsters.

If we add Blatche, if he is healthy and he has learned some humility? I would be a bit surprised to see him eventually become the starting PF on this team.

I'm glad we signed Blatche its a gamble worth taking. He could have Greald Green type of rebirth and be a steal. Time will tell. The thought of Eddie Curry makes me cringe.
