He was pretty clutch against Miami in the finals right? Oh wait, no he wasn't. He hasn't been clutch in two years. He's done. Was only hoping OKC takes him again as wishful thinking so we could abuse the matchup again.

He's done, but I'm sure some playoff team will sign him because of his veteran leadership/experience.

Lakers should sign fish as a water boy. Cheaper, plus he can still share his wisdom to the team if it will give us that many more wins this season.

A better question, does Fisher have his jersey retired? He did bring 5 rings to LA.

basketball doesnt work like that. if another(better/worse) pg plays instead fisher, then the butterfly effect will happen.

No. Fisher was a great asset to have but his contributions are severely overrated by fans. Atleast 4 of the 5 rings LA attained with him on the roster could have been attained with Smush Parker.

You've got to be kidding me.

That's like saying Joel anthony brought a ring to Miami last season.

I've heard it through the grapevine..NBA gods have already designated Los Angeles LAKERS as NBA Champions in near future. The destiny is real. TRUST ME.

D-Fish was a better contributor than Joel, especially in his first 3 three-peat.

Fisher did go nuts from behind the arc in the 2001 playoffs, after missing 60-something games to start the season and just practicing his shot.

Yes, I do know that, thanks. But we are talking about current Fisher here, and talking about bringing current Fisher to Lakers in this discussion.

I was agreeing with most of your post until you said that. Smush was one of the most mentally weak player the Lakers ever had.

Fish set an insane record for 3pt percentage in a series against the Spurs, in I think was the 2001 playoffs. Smush would never do that. I'll find the percentage and post it later.

He did this to the Nets in the 2002 Finals....

Highest 3-point field goal percentage - 66.7% by Derek Fisher, Los Angeles Lakers (vs. New Jersey Nets)

Fisher was great and it would be awesome if the Lakers retired his jersey, but it aint happening. All of our retired players are in the hall of fame. We are not like the Spurs that retired Bowen's jersey.
The only players that will get their Jersey retired are Kobe(lock), Shaq(this year) and Pau(potentially).
It would be nice if we had something in his honor. Like a glass case with some great Laker role players in staples center where fans can check them out.
Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing, Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before;

Return to Los Angeles Lakers
