He would a) be a better ambassador to the game and b) make a boatload more money if he played in China.

In fact, if Kobe was truly savvy and looks at the long term, he would get busy now in morphing the Chinese league into a pan-Asian league, agreeing to terms of becoming a player/coach in return for a stake in a said league. China is already pretty indoctrinated into basketball culture but there is a ton of potential for growth in South Asia and Japan/Korea. Bring in Australia and you've got the potential of a 15 team league, an established market, and 2 established "hometown" talent pools.

Have their season start in June so that American sports junkies can fill in the summer months. Focus on recruiting smart, high-profile-college players that appeal both to the Chinese as well as the upper-middle-class Americans who prize hustle, discipline, and a cerebral approach to basketball (Aaron Craft vs Javale McGee).

RG3 (Can we just call him 3? It's too time consuming to type in the RG.) isn't the only rookie in town making his debut tonight. O's phenom SS Manny Machado was just called up - apparently to play 3rd base - a position he's played twice in his minor league career.

Tim Grover's Attack Athletics owes $12 mil and is probably going belly-up. I always wondered what that gyms business model was.

I think it involved spending a lot of money.

Different types of players you meet when playing pickup basketball.

I am self admittedly never-foul, and player-coach. Ain't no handcheck rules in pickup.

^ I got a good laugh out of that article. Sadly, I think I'm closest to "The And-1 Guy" haha.

I'm also never-foul and player-coach, along with Jesus and the apparently overlooked Gramps: bad knees, bad ankles, slow as s**t, and can barely lift my right arm above my shoulder, but I make up for it by never fouling, and anyone that says anything to the contrary gets a lecture from one of his elders.

How about some other types? How about the player that brings along a lackey/entourage that stands on the sidelines and narrates his game. "You can't stop him!" "All day long!" "Nothing but net!" "And 1!" Totally obnoxious. Maybe that's a good name for him.

I hate those people, and they always seem to be fat, at least around my way lol. So annoying.

Nice. The guys at the court I play on call me "Coach's Son" or "Mullin" which seems to coincide close with "the 40 year old fundamentals". But dammit, I'm only 38 so I refuse to accept that label (even if it fits me to a t). I like Coach's Son or Mulllin better (mullin cuz I'm an older, left hand white guy shooter).

One "guy" I didn't see on the list that I hate is the "I got my five" guy. He's the guy who has next and claims to have his 5 when you ask who has next, but always ends up saving a slot or two for "the man" from the current losers or the "fake baller" that just rolled up to the court at game point.

I've got red hair and I mostly stay on the perimeter and shoot. I usually get called "red", "shooter", or "Hoiberg".

"NBA teams up with Ticketmaster to create comprehensive ticketing site for primary and secondary ticket market, per NBA press release."

Translation? The NBA and Ticket Slave-master move to crush Stub Hub. I'll wait to see what happens when I try to get cheap Tix.

Being totally old school, the kids usually call me "Skyhook Francis" or "Franchise." That's what you got left when you are old, fat, dead slow, and can't jump. :)

I'd have to say I'm between the OG and The Man, leaning towards the OG in my older years except I don't think I play dirty. I use to be the quickest guy on the court and could get to the rim at will, but now that I am older, I rely on my jump shot...which boastfully is pretty money if left open.
