Ibaka 4 years 48 millions? What indication for Jazz?

Post#1 » by sunevisions » Sat Aug 18, 2012 5:37 pm

Ibaka get 4 years 48 million!

What sign give the jazz?

1, Millsap? How much we should pay if we want him?
2, Harden? Does Okc have enough space to resign Harden?

I think this is a great sign that Harden might be left on the outside looking in. The Jazz have to be ready to pounce.

Ibaka, Harden and Westbrook are all max or close to max players. I think Westbrook is the one on the outside.

Westbrook is already signed through 2017. You think they trade him?

I'm not sure this really helps much in viewing Millsap's worth. Incredibly different players. I'd say Harden and Millsap are oddly enough a better comparison.

OKC cannot pay 4 players around $60 mil...... Which means if a team next season offers Harden the max, OKC will be hard pressed to match.......

Millsap didn't resign with the Jazz because he could get a better offer, even from the Jazz, as a free agent...... The Jazz will end up keeping Paul......

Ibaka isn't worth that contract.

OKC 2013-14 season salaries:
Durant 17.8M
Westbrook 13.9M
Ibaka 12M
Perkins 8.5M
That's about 52+M in salaries for 4 players, WITHOUT Harden and at least 7 more players.

- Thunder fans can start saying good bye to Harden's beard
- Thunder championship window for this crop is now one season

Are Millsap or Harden the kind of "stars" Jazz have to pay bug bucks to in order to chase a championship?

I don't want Harden on the Jazz on a max contract.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

With the cap rules being implemented it's likely better the Jazz sit back and allow teams to put them selves in cap hell and then strike when no one else has space.

Westbrook is already signed and is at least 15x better than Ibaka.

Millsap has better market value than Ibaka? My answer is no.

So i think he'll be paid less. something around 10 mill per year. But is debatable, Sap is a better offensive player

Serge Ibaka is a top Center. He should have multiple all star appearances in this contract.

Just further proves we're gonna be giving favors the max. But we already knew that.

He can barely get minutes competing against Nick Collison and Kendrick Perkins.
He can't catch a basketball.
He's a defense only player and yet his team wasn't very good on defense despite Ibaka being the 3rd best defender on his team.

Ibaka is the most overrated defender in the league not named Kobe.

Well, Ibaka is at least above average on defense whereas Chris Paul made the all-defense team while contributing nothing on D. Ibaka is definitely top most overrated though.
