Our team's BEST player

Post#1 » by Kobe System » Sun Aug 19, 2012 12:57 am

Who do you think is our team's best player?

Many have said that this is still Kobe's team but Dwight is our best player. I don't really buy that. (I'm a Kobe fan but I'm not blind  )

I think Kobe and Nash's leadership and experience will be the reason, if ever, we'll win it all this year. They'll be the brain while Howard will be our muscle (Metta will be the heart :D ) Pau will be our glue guy. He will keep our chemistry strong.

Who you got?

I'd say its Howard seeing how I have him a top 3 player and when both Dwight and Durant are playing at their highest level its debatable which one of them is better. I think I'd give Dwight the edge because of how much impact he has on the defensive end. However Kobe is still the most important player on this team.

best player is dwight howard and he'll need to play like he's on the same level as durant/lebron for the lakers to reach their title aspirations, no doubt he's capable of it.

If Dwight is the same Dwight before the injury, then it's him.

I agree with this. Dwights howard defensive ability plus offensive ability makes him the best player on this team. Dude is just a flat out beast on defense. I think his offensive game is vastly underrated. He can put the ball on the floor at 15feet away and get to the basket, and he looks comfortable doing it.

But like Skyhook said, Kobe is still the most important player. He's the guy that going to get Steve Nash and D12 to the next level.

Howard should have a huge year, with Nash, Kobe and Pau setting him up.

This is Kobe's team and he is the best and most valuable player. Period.

After he retires, they can sort it out.

Good question, I think many around here understand, we need both to be effective to win. Ultimately however, a case can be made that Dwight is the best player in the league at his position. With Kobe a case can be made that he is not. However, KOBE as well as all players can attest to this, No one defeats father time. He must Defer!! Period. Allow Dwights game to open up the lanes and create opportunities, i.e. play off of dwights dominating physicality underneath. Someone said above that Kobe is the most important player, it is true, because Kobe needs to understand how his game must fit with dwights and allow dwight to carry the load on nights that he needs to, and then of course take over when needed. Dwight is our best player, but Kobes role is the most important, because if he cant find a way to fit dwight into the offensive system, we wont win the ultimate prize. And that can only be done with true team work!

Kobe IS the Lakers' best player, but for them to succeed, it's Dwight Howard who NEEDS to be their best player. If that makes sense. They need to get Howard involved early and often in every game, and if he's not getting anything going, then let Kobe, Nash, and Gasol take over the scoring load.

Dwight is our best player, I mean that's the reason we traded for him period. We all love Kobe but it's time to start thinking about the hand off. And in all my years of watching the Lakers, they've never had a chance to hand the franchise over to the next in line the right way.

I grow up watching Kareem and Magic's teams, when Kareem left the team had already handed the keys to Magic. But then the HIV situation happened and Magic had to expectantly leave. Then we had 5 mediocre years before Shaq came. This is the first time we can transition the right way. I'm glad about that.

I feel Dwight is like only 6 or 7 years younger than Kobe and probably does not withstand injuries the way Kobe has. Kobe is the most elite pain bearer in the game of basketball, I've never seen or heard of anyone that could withstand so much that needs corrective surgery but held it off for the sake of trying to win a championship that season. Dwight just doesn't have those qualities about him and will be taking time off or hindered by injuries in the not so distant future.

Kobe is our most important player. We don't win without him. But Dwight will have more impact. Alot of people look at Kobe's last year and say he's lost it. I thought he played fine considering the circumstances of switching offenses with no training camp. Remember close out game against OKC, yet that was Kobe that went off for an efficient 42 points.

But Dwight's impact on defense will be felt. And needed. I have both as top 5 players imo, But Kobe is most important, Dwight is slightly better. Both are needed to win.

still kobe. 30/5/5/25 PER in the the playoffs last year. i have no doubt he'll be the lakers best player over a full post-season.

dwight still has major holes in his game.

Return to Los Angeles Lakers
