Looking for a reason why thread was locked

Thanks.

I tried my best to create an informational post, using examples, and using my own opinions. I did not attack any forum members.

I didn't see any crazy responses. There were some good posts, some mediocre posts - just like any thread you start.

My hypothesis:

1st Thread: It is sort of inflamatory against Kings fans while Cousins is a young 24 and it is basically a personal statement by you to say he is uncoachable. Thus, more a personal statement than a threadable discussion. I can see people being offended that are fans of the Kings or Cousins.

2nd Thread: This thread isn't even a discussion. It is your personal statement. Then, you expect people to discuss your personal statement. Thus, I can see why this thread could be considered irrelevant.

Hope that helps.

Aren't all threads - except news stories - personal statements? Don't most threads offend some people? IE. I see a lot of threads calling out players as overrated.

It'd actually be helpful if a mod brought up a rule that I broke and got the threads locked.

The Cousins thread was locked because it was essentially a troll thread from which no positive conversation could be expected.

"Hey guys, your player is a tool and a cancer, you're never gonna win! Meep meep! Vrooom!" [/Jeff Dunham]

That was never going to end well; trolling a fan base is not going to produce good conversation. There were also factual inaccuracies in your post that made it even worse.

EDIT: Obviously, being wrong and making statements that aren't true didn't get your thread locked, but basically it was a dead-end thread which was degenerating into negative conversation and moving towards personal attacks and the like, that's why it was locked (well, that and because it was a troll thread).

EDIT: Remember too that sometimes a thread is locked for reasons that have nothing or little to do with the OP; occasionally, a good thread will get ripped apart by bad posters and then locked as the conversation declines. This was a mix of a bad OP and then a degenerating thread.

Fair enough. Looking for reason why second thread was locked. Thanks.
