Come on now. Why would the Bobcats trade the guy who was the 7th overall pick last season. Because, you know, the position that a player was drafted is the most important component of their value.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

We did just give 10 million a year to guy who's going to play SF and before that we traded the 18th pick for a SF. I don't think SF is our biggest need at the moment, although that may be irrelevant to keeping Dwill.

Definitely true, but I mean a long term starter, Were going to have to resign Bud for season after next, and AK is short term, Id like to think Dwill can transform into our future SF, but we'll see.

Biyombo would not help your team at all. He would be a huge liability on offense, I dont see him as a Blake Griffin type player, even with Rubio as the PG.

Nobody said they did.

I think you missed something.

Biyombo wouldn't be asked to do much if anything offensively. He'd be the defensive big we could put at C next to Love or PF next to Pekovic. Either way I think he'd complement them both.

I think your team needs a lot more offensive firepower, Love and Roy wont be enough, I dont expect Shved and Kirilenko to be more than 12ppg type of players, Rubio's shooting skills are still questionable, so a C that brings some offense would help your team a lot.

A defense only C would be a liability in my opinion, but maybe I am wrong :)

We already a have a center that brings offense. A 3rd big that's good defensively would probably be a much better fit.

I don't think Adelman will play Biyombo, he's not fond of offensively challenged/unskilled players. He played Hayes though.

Still incredibly raw. I think Williams has a better shot of reaching his potential than Biyombo. I'm surprised he didn't perform better in rebounds given that the team was so bad in virtually every category. He's not the guy you want to put on the court to maintain the lead in crunch time as he can't facilitate, score, or hit a free throw (I'm sure Adelman is drooling already).

I wouldn't be angry if the trade occurred, but I wouldn't do it.

Our Biyombo is Stiemsma, we don´t need Biyombo to duplicate Stiemsma´s role.

I think Biyombo was a huge mistake for the Bobcats. He just played a couple of matches in Spain and then got drafted being very very raw. He doesn´t understand the game, he´s not just bad offensively, he is horrible, one of the worst (if not the worst) in the NBA. We wouldn´t ask him for much in offense but some help wouldn´t be bad.

I don´t like Williams´ upside neither (I think it´s very difficult to significantly improve his % with such an unbalaced shotting mechanics), and he´s not going to get minutes this season with kirilenko and buddinger in front of him. A trade for a player like Varejao would be a best case scenario for me. Biyombo, no thanks. A cheap player I like for what I´ve seen in europe and that I think that could nicely complete the roster is Kevin Seraphin. I don´t know what the wizards would ask in return though.

I don't think Bijombo was a mistake for the Bobcats, he has an extraordinary work ethic and will surely become a great player in the NBA. I honestly would happily trade DWill for Bijombo+1st round pick top5 protected.

this is how u build a good young team like okc.

pick up projects with a clear role and good work ethic.

while still not winning games to gain a better draft pick. for example the pik up of mkg is a good example of this. and offensive project that probly had the best intagibles of the draft, and u know he will work hard.

i like what they are doing over there. it will pay off in a couple years

Stiemsma is fine but Biyombo has all the tools to become a perennial DPOY candidate in a couple years.
a guy like Varejao would likely be more helpful next season but thinking long term Biyombo would be a great investment IMO, i'd do the trade even if there were no other picks involved.

I'd say Biyombo's ceiling is Okafor with worse rebounding and offense.
I don't think he's that great, although there are not a whole lot of good centers in the league.

Stiemsma was second in the league to Ibaka in blocks per minute last year.

I'll take him over Biyombo all day.

Lazy comparison.? Biyombo figures to be a much worse scorer but has the potential to be a much better shotblocker. When Okafor was at his best, he had a nice baby hook and was a great finisher--the Bobcats and Hornets regularly posted him up. Many of his blocks were of the Pekovic variety, though, using his wide base to stuff people who came right at him. If he works out, Biyombo will be a great help and weakside shotblocker--he's really fast and really long--but he also has NONE of the offensive skills Oak has.

If he vastly improves, sure, he could become the DPOY in the NBA. But I think that Okafor's defense is pretty underrated at the moment. He's a hell of a lot better defensively than DeAndre Jordan, who is a better shot blocker on paper. But for his career Okafor has averaged 1.8 blocks per game in 32.6 minutes, which isn't shabby.

Either you are underrating Okafor as a defender or overrating Biyombo IMO. He's solid.

I'm not disagreeing with the idea that Biyombo's ceiling is about as good as prime Okafor, just with the idea that their games are similar. I think the Bobcats should be quite happy if he turns out to contribute as much as Oak did during his time in Charlotte. Guy was a very good starting center.
