I say Arenas and Blatche resurrect their careers by signing with the same Chinese team. They can take the nicknames "Pu" and "Hsu"

It was a blessing in disguise for me. Missed two weeks of school, and nobody got hurt. What's not to like?

I was at Kings Dominion on the flight of fear when the earth quake happened. Never even felt it. When I got off the ride the lights that were hanging down from the ceiling were moving back and forth. The next thing I knew the park was being closed.

Yep. Some schools had lost power and had some damage IIRC.

Just have to vent about the coverage of the US of the "Hurricane' (it was a tropical storm) hitting here in Santo Domingo.

They showed devastation, flooding, people walking down the streets with buckets on their heads. Guess what? Everytime it rains more than 2 inches here the streets flood, poor people have buckets on their heads and the devastation CNN/The Weather Channel showed was the poorest areas of the country which ALWAYS look like that.

The sensationalism of every **** thing on US news is absolutely ridiculous.

During this horrible storm, I spent time in a mall down here acquiring a 4G modem and a WiMax modem for my business, then I hit up the food court, went to the movies, gym, and headed out for late night drinks.

Absolutely ridiculous.

Also, my girlfriend is sitting in our place in Miami waiting to come down. The Florida drama is also completely overblown. She's out having lunch with her Mom. There is a light sprinkle and the wind is gusting to around 35 mph every once and a while.

Vent is over. **** american "news".

Forget my attempt at humor, (post that I edited). Something heroic and great occurred at Perry Hall, HS, in Baltimore.

A student made a terrible decision but one brave, heroic, teacher saved at least one life today.

That story made me kind of sad when I thought about a 15-year old on the first day of school. School is where you go to learn. Not where you go to try and kill. Depressing that a 17-yr old gets shot, I don't care what the argument is. Crazy.

The more I hear stuff like that the more determined I am to enjoy life and laugh. Here is something seriously funny. I didn't watch this as a kid and only came to appreciate the Celebrity Roast infomercials I see from time to time on tv. More entertainment that you just don't see any more. There is not a single cuss word in any of this and the comedy is all 100% unscripted.

Yeah, I hate infomercials, but those celebrity roasts really were that funny back in the day, and I'm sure they still are. I couldn't watch Foster Brooks' drunk act without laughing so hard I'd cry. Today's roasters are funny, but you wouldn't want kids to watch them, and they're just at a lower talent level.

I just finished the first two episodes of Copper a cop drama based on the period time shortley after the incidents in Gangs of New York. The writing/producer team is the same that was behind Homicide and OZ. My advice, this show looks like it's going to be a hit watch it. So far the good guys have moral compasses but this aint' Disney. The second episode appeared to be predictable but by the end my mouth was open and I'm hooked.

Man-crush on White since he out-played Davis at the NCAA. I saw many tweets on the video that Fish posted.

http://networkedblogs.com/BZXZO

blog written by a mid-20-something psych grad student about how our memories get twisted by the media, especially about "lightbulb flash moments" like 9/11.

i feel pretty immune. i'm pretty confident i was in the halls of my HS getting a drink when a basketball coach was passing by and said "pretty crazy times you kids are growing up in. planes crashing into buildings and stuff."

and i thought he was kidding and kind of laughed it off. when i went back to class, the teacher got a call from the school phone and TV's where then wheeled in and everybody went to homeroom and prepared for evac.

Amazing weather this week, but it sucks that the sun sets so early now. Not even 7:30 and it's pitch black. Goodbye summer. :(

Guys, just this morning, the mods got a PM from Howard Mass saying that a member of the realgm and Chicago Bulls community, Tommy Udo 6, has passed away. He was an excellent poster and from all accounts a great guy.

From what I hear, he was in his 60s and in poor health. RIP, dude.
