I learned everything I know about politics from this video.

Also that man (Charles Durning) is a war hero and decorated boxer. Pretty awesome dude.

So yeah a couple days ago I decide to watch the Olympics for the first time and saw women water polo. So I change to the channel and the first thing I see is a underwater shot of a beefy female and her swimming suit seemingly fighting for dear life. I this swim suit seemed liked it was getting eaten by her ass! Felt like I was lied to

They are Aussie Synchronised swimmers. They probably suck (at synch. swimming) but who really cares?

I am coming here to go on record now. Australia is going to be thumped by the USA in the Q.Finals of the Olympics. Patty Mills, and Joe Ingalls should do alright (provided Patty doesn't hoist 100 3 pointers during the game!) We are screwed otherwise. No point giving me grief about it when Australia lose, I know it's going to happen. The only big question is, by how much?

I am ready to receive whatever teasing you want to give me about Australia being owned by the US in the Q.Finals.

I was right about Ingalls (borderline NBA player?) and Mills though.

Incidently, I put money on the game. (Yes, we can do that in Australia!) I bet that Australia would lose by 20 - 25 points. I am upset we lost by 31.

I only put on $20.00 AU, (That's what $150.00 US?) and it paid $1.86.

It wasn't about the money, more about the principal of the bet. Obviously, Australia are worse than I anticipated.

Patty Mills should be a starting PG in the NBA. See him burning Paul, Williams, and Westbrook off the dribble. Kobe was guarding him most of the game.

Also, our plan to distract Kobe with Stephanie Rice (Aussie swimmer) didn't work.

Hey - that 11-0 run at the start of the 3rd was impressive, kam!

And you should know right now that Kobe on-court can't be distracted by a woman off-court.

And now, for one of the most insanely stupid things I've ever heard:

Bryant led the United States with 20 points.

Grant Hill told the media in July that all Team USA players in 1996 tried to avoid becoming the leading scorer due to the likelihood of being chosen for a random drug test.

If they're going to test based on a single stat (already stupid) maybe test the leading rebounder or the guy with the most fouls instead of the guy who flicked his wrist the most times.

I was looking for some new shows...

What other shows do you guys watch? Currently, I watch..

Breaking Bad
basically every Thursday NBC comedy (Parks and Rec, Community, Office, 30 Rock, etc).
The League
HIMYM
on the 4th season of Mad Men

Probably watch a few more from time to time, this is just from the top of my head.

I've heard The Wire is GOAT, so probably going to check that out, along with Archer.

The Wire is GOAT!

I like the new show Newsroom and on A&E Longmire. Also Hell on Wheels on AMC. Almost anything on FX I like. Black Dynamite is funny stuff

Yeah man. It's crazy. Not even the smartest people alive, given a complex and demanding system, can ensure a 0 fault tolerance.

That's marketing's job.

At the end of the day, every success humans can achieve relies on good fortune and a prayer.

Boardwalk Empire (season 3 will start in about a month)
Dexter (season 7 will start in about a month)
Girls (season 1 just ended)

I don't think The Wire was quite as great as people make it out to be. It was pretty good at the time, but I think you can make the case for both Mad Men and Breaking Bad to be better. I like both shows better myself, anyway.

I've heard good things about "The Newsroom", but haven't had a chance to check it out. Not sure if it's my type of show, but I'll probably watch at least the first episode or two at some time.

Ditto to Boardwalk Empire. Catch up on the first two seasons if you can. The wikipedia entries on Nucky Thompson will give a bit of it away, but I read it anyway to figure out the politics of Atlantic City at the time.

I haven't really had a chance to watch TV in a while. Not to switch up the conversation, but besides the atypical rockets sports blogs, e.g. clutchfans/dreamshake/wagesofwins, which other ones do people follow? I read canis hoopus and awolfamongwolves as well.

I like Zach Lowe as well. I find Bill Simmons funny. I've bought one book from the freedarko collective and it was pretty well researched. But now the site is dead...

Crapple beat Samsung in court, Samsung are forced to cough up 1 Billion dollars in damages.

I am going to post a very strong opinion here.

I really first had to start using Apple back in 1995. I hated Apple from day dot. I had just transferred to a new High School, and they used Apple Computers. All my life, I had used PC's. I queried my IT teacher about it, he was already a hardcore Apple convert. I asked what was so good about Apple, these were his responses.

"PC's are a joke. Programmers laugh at DOS." I partly conceded that point, most use Linux for programming nowadays anyway.

"Apple have some of the best graphic design software available." I answered with "That's great, but what if I don't want to do Graphic Design as a career?"

I then asked, "What do most companies use in the workplace?" He answered with, "Well PC's, but they should use Apple."

"So you are teaching me to use a system, that I will probably never ever use in life after Highschool?"

"Well if you don't like it, don't come to class."

So I didn't, consequently failed the class.
To this day, I have never used an Apple product again.

I have just got a Samsung Galaxy II Tablet. From my understanding, it is NOTHING like a Ipad.

I am so glad Steve Jobs is dead. Maybe after the pictures of him molesting children are released, we will truly see Apple share prices crumble......... LOL.

So I guess I am asking, Crapple, or other? (For the record, I have a HTC phone!) Android rules!!!!
