I hope MLS does away with the All Star Game in a few more seasons.

I much prefer the World Soccer Challenge games if anything at all. Friendlies in the middle of the season really are kinda stupid.

The MLS all star game and its use to promote American soccer as being able to compete with European soccer is a joke. We're still a good 2-3 decades away from being any good and being able to compete with many of the European leagues.

Call me cynical but I still fail to see the logic of Alexi Lalas and other American soccer pundits as to how a league's all star team in mid season beating a club team out of season, without many of its star players provides any accurate indicator of American soccer being close to on par with European leagues.

I really feel that Lalas, someone whos played in a top league(serie A), doesn't even believe half the sh*t he says about U.S. soccer... but I do think he is just trying really hard to get more and more Americans to jump onto the already growing soccer bandwagon. I'm sure that in his mind it would do no good to admit to the brand new soccer fans that beating Chelsea(for example) during the beginning of their preseason is really no accomplishment.

anyway, my Red Bulls lost but i was very pleased to see Di Vaio score. the first of many more to come this season, I am sure

Im a little mad SJ quakes found a stoppage time equalizer this weekend....RSL closing in still, should be a fun race from here to the end of the season for the (meaningless, imo) Supporters' Shield. Looking like a two team race at the moment, who else do you guys think could jump in?

What a goal by Felipe! Nice 2-0 win!!!! Rivas should be suspended 3 games tho....

Nice win for the Impact. Doing a great job in our first season. We lacked depth so the injuries killed us but impressive season thus far.... So proud to go watch Nesta, Ferrari, Di Vaio and company play at home! Nesta is so good, its unbelievable. Class personified.

So the Portland Timbers traded Troy Perkins for Donovan Ricketts this week... I'm still not sure what they were thinking. Perkins has been our best player this season and he might be the best American keeper in MLS (although that terrible back line has killed his numbers this year). Donovan Ricketts is old and on a rapid decline.

HUGE logic fail.

Eh terrible performance by RSL last night. I thought we had it when they lost DeMerit. Plus they had their bench keeper as Cannon was serving his one game suspension. Ever since that CCL loss, we've been lost, doesn't help losing Olave and Morales to injury once again.

Hopefully we can rebound vs Dallas and also get that must win vs Tauro in CCL.

TFC proves once again they are the worst team in MLS. Tied Portland after a great game from Eric Hassli.

That's now two games in a row where the Timbers didn't lose... (You know it's bad when you count how many games a team can go without losing, rather than how many games they actually win)

Its getting pretty ugly down here in Salt Lake City. 4 losses in a row and we're heading into Tuesday's CCL game absolutely needing a win. Its not looking very good

Thought about taking my lady to a game. Neither of us have ever been to BMO Field or an MLS game because there used to be this impression a couple years ago that it was the hardest ticket in town to get as a result of the rabid fans and I wasn't prepared to spend more than ticket value for MLS-level soccer.

What's the problem with the team? Is it just that they've been bad for way too many years in a row now? Is it that the level of soccer itself just isn't good across the board? Is it that TFC just plays boring? Is it now much easier to get tickets than it used to be? Has the atmosphere died down?

I've never given them much of my attention before so literally anything you tell me will seem like news to me. All I know about TFC is that the fans in the city seemed to be really passionate, loyal supporters but maybe that's changing and the novelty is wearing off? Anybody want to chime in with where this team is currently at in the city vs where they were 3-5 years ago?

MLSE stumbled into a highly passionate fan base right out of the gate and just like with the Raptors they have quickly found a way to alienate the fans while at the same time put out a product less and less desirable to watch.

MLS is getting better each and every year. The play in improving, the supporters are becoming more vocal, the league is getting more recognition around the world but at the same time things in Toronto are going completely the opposite direction.

The main issue is Management. Tom Anselmi does not understand soccer and has looked to others only to fire them when things don't improve immediately. We have had 7 coaches in 6 seasons and we still don't have the right guy for the job in my opinion.

You can't blame the players or the city or the league. It simply comes down to being mismanaged from the start. If Vancouver and Montreal can both have more success in a shorter period of time than no one can be blamed but Tom Anselmi.

I still suggest going to see a game or two. The passion can still be felt but the rabid fan base in gone, likely not to return until we have new people in charge at the top. Sit near the supporters section and just hope for a good game.
