be proud! I noticed if you are a tall dude that can't even get a rebound much more score, you suck hard. if you're smaller you're somehow excused. but if you score in bunches, plays solid D, spotlight's on you.

I remember playing against this 6'3 guy. he was going for a dunk. chased him, slapped the ball but he still got it. posted me up, spun, busted my lip but managed to slap the ball again and the ball went out of bounds. got pissed with my teammates. asked them if they were playing just to give this guy highlights.

busted my lip but got the respect.

I feel you man. When I used to play Football (D-line) I would pride myself on getting through guys a foot taller and twice my weight. I miss football
Anyway I am a pretty good lock down defender! Whenever I played pick up games I always love to guard the team's best player.

if you havent heard sketches of spain from miles davis go download it. it was the first ever jazz album i bought. i went to amoeba records and was just looking through stuff randomly when i found it.

Anyone know any good jazz?

I'm a huge Bebop fan so I mostly listen to Bird, Diz, Monk, Bud Powell, early Miles Davis but I also enjoy some Coleman Hawkins, Lester Young, Jimmy Smith, and of course some the major giants like Coltrane, Armstrong, and Billie Holidae. What kind of jazz are you into BT?

Anything, really. I obviously like the heavy hitters like John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Louis Armstrong etc. Personal favorites are Bob James and Donald Byrd.

Gonna check out the ones you the comparatively obscurer ones you mentioned. Like to get me started? Would be great.

I like to play in the high post more than the low blocks. Took me years to get comfortable there. It's hard to double/trap there if you have a lot of counters. You need to develop a turnaround jumper, single/double shimmies, face-up jab/rocker step game and flat footed jumpers. In terms of athleticism, leg strength and back strength is paramount, squats and pull downs/seated rows help, respectively. When the doubles/traps come you pick apart the D. If you play with people you know and have somewhat of a system in place, it really helps.

Some days the jumper doesn't fall, but that skillset opens the floor up for your teammates.

I do however (unfortunately) smoke cigarettes
