No he won't, nor will he be able to.

1. Stern hates Canada
2. By the time Wiggins is in the draft we will be a playoff team.

How cute... he thinks we'll be a playoff team

Also to the person that said they predicted Kobe to be a generational talent; if they did nobody listened, because Kobe was drafted 13th.

As for Wiggins. I agree with you completely. I think we would be looking back and wondering where it went wrong if he was a more efficient Rudy Gay. This is NOT to say that an efficient Rudy Gay isn't a very good player, but with all the reporting and frankly just watching him play at his age and level, he is on a path right now that suggests his ceiling and rate of improvement will leave him much higher than a more efficient Rudy Gay. Can something go wrong and he end up on the floor of a courtroom? Sure, but I think with all the information available, we have to believe he will be an NBA Superstar. He IMO has the ceiling (if reached) of being a generational talent. Let's hope he doesn't go all Austin Rivers on our asses

A lot of events have to transpire for us to get a shot at Wiggins.

We need to miss the playoffs this year, so BC can be fired and Bargnani traded( We can't have guys who will keep us out of the cellar. We need a bottom 5 finish at least. Maybe bottom 2.)

We need the rest of our guys to have no significant impact until after we draft Wiggins. This isn't totally out of the question as Lowry is good, but is not a guy who will lift a bunch of scrubs to greatness.

Val needs to suck enough for the next couple years to not have a big impact. This is possible as well. He'll be good, but he's very young and still fairly raw. Should need some time to develop, or at the very least adjust to banging with NBA big men.

The main thing is we need a GM who understands what a guy like Wiggins could do for this team. He could make us relevant again. That's worth throwing away some average and slightly above average players for picks. We need someone who truly thinks long term. That being said, it'd be a big gamble for a GM to take to intentionally make this team suck even worse just for a shot at one player. I think it'd be worth the risk, but most guys do worry about their jobs and might not feel the same as myself and any other Wiggins fans might.

Most have probably seen it but this Wiggins-Pangos head-to-head mix is pretty impressive too. I don't think the Raps will be bad enough to get him in the draft but maybe he comes up here 6 or 7 years into his career. There's no question our national team is on the rise in the next few years. I don't think it is crazy to project us as a medal contender in 2016 and a bigtime threat in 2020.

He has the "springs in his shoes" athleticism, in that it looks like it's completely effortless when he jumps. Vince-esque.

Think he's the best I've seen in HS. (LBJ was before me) RT @dmoney23444 is [Wiggins] a top 5 prospect in the last 5 yrs?

Scout.com director, trust me no one said this about Rudy Freaking Gay, and he saw Kevin Durant.

Wiggins is already a more skilled offensive player than Durant when he was 17. And Durant never possessed the jump-out-of-the-building type athleticism Wiggins possesses.

I don't think I've seen ANY 5 star prospect that has garnered this much attention when he was only a sophomore in HS.

He's entering his senior year this september if I'm not mistaken. His sophmore year I believe he was still playing here in Canada.

Yeah, I remember he had a lot of hype when he was still playing for Vaughan.

I can only talk about the last decade but this is the order of most hyped prospects in their senior year.

1. Lebron James
2. Greg Oden
3. Andrew Wiggins

... everyone else

LOL that's the least of my concern. Call me a hater but outside of the Bobcats and Magics we are one of the best bet to be in contention for his services.
Check most projections, vega odds or just remove your Raptors red coloured glasses lol.
We basically have the same team with lowry insted of Jose and we got younger/least experienced. I mean Jose was always an average to above average player, how much better is Lowry supposed to be exactly? Is a Lowry/Bargs duo supposed to be much better than Ford/Bosh or Jose/Bosh? Or are we counting on Landry Fields or Val to come out of the gate looking like Tyson Chandler?
I say we might as well start the Wiggins bandwagon

There's no way we will get Wiggins until he becomes a free agent (and even then it's highly unlikely). We're not tanking in 2013-14 obviously so he won't be in our range barring us robbing some team of a #1 pick.

I think Mayo was hyped as the next LeBron when he was sophomore/junior, but that hyped died when he was a senior.

Wiggins hype level is on another planet. He's another basketball prodigy lol.

I don't think he's as hyped down in the US as he is here... at least until he goes to a D-1 school and beasts. I think the hype is warranted though. He is far ahead of his age in terms of development. He could practically play in the NBA right now and not look completely out of place.
