Any of you dudes read comics? I was really into them when I was a kid (X-books and Batman) then got really, really into The Sandman when I was in high school and read some more of the classics (Frank Miller, not sure what else off the top of my head). I was never really into collecting, just drawn to different stories or artists. Around January I started using my ipad to read comics digitally, which has been super enjoyable. Anyway, I've have some irl friends to talk comics with, but thought it might be cool to look to the internet for others. So, anyone?

I'm a huge comic fans...

All the obvious books that everybody read: Sandman, The Watchmen, Preacher. I read anything Jim Starlin wrote and the Warlock comics from the 70's are still my all time favorite. The Walking dead is probably the only current series that i read religiously. I'm always looking for a new series to get into but haven't found anything recently. I read the first two Fable graphic novels and was neither under nor over whelmed. Any recommendations Walt?

I don't know if you guys have come across Wone on these forums who likes to spam the boards with posts about the next rapture and the end of the world.

Howard Mass called him out for his posts and this was the end result.

Howard Mass wrote:Wone,

The way I see it, your not going to pay anyone anyway as you'd be out at least thousands of dollars and it's doubtful that you have that kind of money. You word is the same as your countless ridiculous predictions about the world ending which are a joke.

Just because you are very unlikely to pay anyone and I cannot ban anyone's account for a bet, does not mean you are getting away with making a bet as no one does that on these forums.

If we are all still here on January 1, 2013 at 12:01 EST and your account is still active, The General Off-Topic Forum will hold a contest where the users will select your new Username, Signature and Avatar.

It will be a complete makeover for you and if I get the Aussies involved, I do not think it will be a fun day for you.

So, for your sake, you had better hope that your theories actually come true for once.

It was a thread about telemarkerters but Wone side tracked it like he always does.

Howard Mass is great.

Unfortunately Wone got banned not long after this for his continual derailing of threads, so we will never see the result.

Sweet! I LOVED Sandman when I was in HS and started rereading the trades I had a few months ago. Still good. I marathon'd through TWD and caught up around January, great stuff, would probably reread it at some point.

Current thing's I'd recommend:
Saga (initially had this further down because it didn't come to me right away, if you check out only one of these, make it this one)
Whatever Mark Waid is writing (especially Daredevil)
Scott Snyder's Batman
I, Vampire has some amazing art and keeps my interest
Coloring in Uncanny X-Force has been top notch and the pencils and ink are really good, too. X-books were my favorite growing up, so I don't know if the story is that great or if I'm just partial to it, but the art is really, really good.

This dude Chris Roberson just wrapped a series called iZombie which was really good because the artist was Mike Allred. He has a really cool pop art style and his wife almost exclusively does his colors. Roberson just started a creator owned imprint called Monkeybrain and everything they've put out so far (2 months maybe) has been quality. Specifically I thought Bandette had a really cool style to it and the books are cheap... but I think they might be exclusively digital?

Walt, I know you don't visit BCP much, but there are a lot of guys over there that love comics. Ziggy and Bing (off the top of my head) are big into them and might be able to turn you onto some good ones if you send them a PM or something.

Just came upon this video and I just had to share it. Isn't it one of the most awesome basketball mixes you have ever seen?

I love when he looks slow and unathletic, but he just weaves his way around and does the impossible.

My Gamecocks almost gave me a damn heart attack. That game was U G L Y.

On the plus side, Marcus Lattimore looks pretty good.
