This is 2012, not 2006. If Kobe is still acting like the #1 option, it's not a good sign. Kobe is the least efficient out of the big 4 and he just got another year older.

Dwight should be the clear cut #1 option. for 3 quarters then let Pau, Nash and Kobe do most of the scoring in the 4th. We need to utilize Dwight's youth for 3 quarters.

If they had only added Steve Nash, the team would be improved although there would be questions.
If they had only added Dwight Howard, the team would be improved although there would be questions.
I feel like adding both guys is absolutely perfect on BOTH sides of the ball for the Lakers. Sure they will have to adjust to playing with each other yadda yadda yadda, but this is about as bullet-proof a makeover as you will get.

Because they added Dwight, I would prefer Nash over a younger flashier (but still great) PG if you're taking the next 2 years, because when Nash talks teammates will listen. And Kobe, Dwight, and Nash will all be able to work things out on the court. They will basically all be 'The Man' in their own way.

Even the worst case scenario (which I think is far-fetched) of Kobe somehow ignoring reality and insisting on always being Chucker #1...is not so bad, because having Dwight and Steve will help his efficiency anyways. I don't recall Kobe ball-hogging during the Olympics, and I really doubt he will do so here.

I feel like there will be absolutely no doubts about those 3 melding their games together. The main questions will be about their bench play.

The Lakers are vulunerable because this team does not have a true swingman who can provide a consistent scoring threat from the 2 or 3 position. If there is an injury to Kobe or fouls how do you compensate can Devin Ebanks be the solution. The Lakers have two many smallish guards and similar guards playing the same position and no flexiblity. Jodie Meeks can not play the 3 the Lakers need to add one or two more quality players a ggood swingman and another center.

This is poor scenario dude. What if any team lost their star player who is going to fill in? What if Paul Pierce gets hurt? What if Lebron James gets hurt? Kevin Durant who fills in? You have to look at teams based on health and that alone. The Lakers are a pretty deep team this year. Meeks is the back up 2 and Ebanks and Clark are back up 3s. Not sure what else they need to cover. They cant have a capable starter at every bench position. No contending team does.

 So I guess every team is screwed then if their STAR player gets injured. Even if Kobe is injured we still have DWIGHT HOWARD, STEVE NASH, AND PAU GASOL. I'd say we'd be pretty damn alright compared to other teams.

Yeah but what if KOBE, DWIGHT, STEVE, AND PAU all get injured? The Lakers clearly have no answer for that.

Good questions and good answers

I love interviews about basketball instead of hype
