I'm just curious. Is the Amnesty Clause a one time deal, or do you get another one after a certain number of years? If it's just a one time thing, don't you think we should save it for 5,10,15,etc. years down the line until we have an EXTREMELY bad contract.
I can't help but think that using the clause on Miller this season would be a huge waste. Although we would save millions in luxury tax over the next few years, imagine in 10 years when we have a guy with a terrible contract that we are stuck with for the long term. The type of contract that can run your franchise into the ground for the better part of a decade. I think teams were waaaay too quick to use it if it's a one time thing.
What do you think?
