Kanter Working on Post Moves

Kanter has finished his conditioning workouts and he's going to spend some time with Kiki Vandeweghe working on his footwork and post moves before camp opens Oct 2.

Okay, the next complaint will be he should have started this sooner! Okay Kanter boo birds, lets hear you squawk.

If Kanter were anything but a bust he would have rediscovered Dr. Erskine's formula, injected himself with it, and become Yarbay Turkey. It was clearly a reach to take him in the first round, let alone the top 3...

What's the use? I actually like Kiki, but unless they signed him to a 5+ year contract, the point is moot. It's not like Kanter, or any player, can learn anything in only 5 weeks. Why didn't Kanter start this in May?!!! Then at least he would've been ready for the finals in 2017, but now the earliest these lessons can pay off is the opening of the 2017-18 season. Thanks for stinking it up in the 2017 Finals ENES!!!!!!

Every young player should have a mentor and a former player is best to fill that role since they have a wealth of knowledge.

With that said, Kiki teaching enes post moves is like a cat teaching a dog to bark. I saw the tweet Enes made about working with Kiki but I don't seeing anything about it being a post move/post footwork workout specifically.

Why because I pointed out that Kiki was not a "post" player? Although if you meant high post ala dirk then that works but most people don't say high post, they just call it jump shooting. Was just getting the story clear that all.

Dang even when I'm being totaly innocent, I get killed for it as negativity.

I might be dating myself a bit, but it is true that Kiki was not a post player and really only had a one dimensional offensive game. He was however an NBA head coach and thus should be given a little more credit for his player development ability.

Kiki has basketball experience. Lots of it. You don't have to be Kareem to qualify to teach post moves.

Good point, NB, and he was born in Germany too! And if it helps, his mother was the BYU homecoming queen in 1947, and the 1952 Miss America. She was considered the first Mormon media superstar. His father was a NY Knick for 6 seasons.

So who better to teach Kanter post moves--reapaman?

With neon's logic why don't dwight learn to improve his free throws by working with shaq and RC just saying a bunch of nonsense. BTW Kiki's coaching experience consist of half a season coaching the 2nd worst team of all time record wise in terms of an 82 game season. From personal experience, learning from someone who can't do it well is not nearly as useful as learning from someone who can. Its why Ewing can work with a guy on his post moves for years and they improve a little and Hakeem can work with a guy for a week and they show vast improvement (and yea Ewing didn't have a great post game besides a ok hook shot since he chose not to develop that part of his game and focus on his mid range game).

You know its been over a year since I went against some jazz fans theory that Kanter will be able to adjust to the league in 2-3 years ala garnett and dwight and instead will take 5 + years to develop one of his weak skills so thats its nba effective (since unlike guys like garnett and dwight he didn't come into the nba with developed nba level skill/ability like elite athletism or a solid jump shot). Yet despite naming 50 + guys that took 5+ years to do it; no one has named me one guy who took less than that to hone a weak skill. Unlike some guys who can score 15+ in under 3 years, he doesn't have a developed jump shot, post move (high or low post), nor can he rely heavily on high athletism like most young guys do; so how is he gonna score. So in this case the pot can call the kettle black because the pot is shiny red with no stains.

BTW neon; RC had no source, what he said made no logical sense, and the only source I can find is Kanter's tweet that says nothing about working on post moves. It could be true but you gotta still post a souce if your making threads like this. If he had posted this in the general board he wouldve gotten flamed hard for no source.

Seems to me RC is often alleging, or at least implying, that he gets information from his own "personal" Jazz sources, as opposed to following Brian T. Smith's or some other cat's Twitter account. One can make of that what they will.
