Will Kobe change Dwight? A killer instinct

Post#1 » by TarktheShark » Sun Sep 2, 2012 9:32 pm

Reading around about Dwight from what I read from fans, he jokes around and lacks a true mean streak...

Thats one thing I love about Shaq, he played like the biggest baddest big man on the court. He would dunk in your face then push you to the ground(Dudley). Shaq was a big clown off the court, but on the court he had that mean look in his eyes.. Kobe has that same killer instinct. Will Dwight adapt this killer instinct being around Kobe? Gasol did for a bit, until he transformed back to his old self. So I'm not so sure Dwight will changed

I hope so..

As much as I never cared for KG, I kinda wish Dwight becomes a bully like him.. Be mean big man, be mean!

Dwight will mature just like everybody else thats played in the NBA. Kobe, Nash, Gasol are too serious. That will rub off Dwight for sure.

well with all being said, then good thing LO isnt on the team.
Now Howard has no excuses to be a clown. Wait till ish gets real and he realizes no on is laughing... and big Mitch is on the bench scrutinizing. It wont take too long to realize its a different company!

You can question Dwight's off the court mentality, but the guy brings 100% effort on the hardwood floor night in and out...

Snaq, ShowTime, ..... with respect to the topic, Dwight is very much like lebron. IMO, killer instinct is not so much about who brings it regularly (a bunch of guys do). Its about having what it takes to murder & bury an opponent when it really matters. its that part where the mamba goes "oh hell no, i refuse to lose", and he buries a dagger at the last second. noone is saying that Howard doesnt bring 100%. Lebron does too. ... But, hey maybe theres a corellation between clowning /cheezing to dang much and not being able to execute when the clock is running down. Lebron's disapearrances are well documented. Howard... well heck he cant make a frethrow or midrange so... why even bother...

not to say that freethrows at the end of game determines killer instinct. ...but ya gotta agree that when you look at shaq and you look at howard, shaq wanted to ruin folks out there sometimes. Howard... well not so much...

This killer instinct thing a bit overrated. We have seen Kobe both win and lose with this attribute.

i always looked at it as Howard knowing his limitations because of his freethrows woes vs lebrons flaming out in the 4th of important games.

perhaps he does respect his limitations... but most competitive guys that are working hard on something would be trying it out there...hes got to take that midrange and gain the confidence. The fact that he appears so complacent with his limitations and lack of clutch-time reliability is indicative of his shallow level of raw killer instinct.

I think people are misunderstanding Dwight, yes he clowns a lot but when he's on the court the guy means business on both ends of the court. He doesn't come off as an intimidator though & I'm sure Nash & Kobe will make him play like a complete assassin, he needs to have that demeanor to have that fear factor...but as far as playing, he brings it every night.

On the court, Dwight is more of a killer than Pau ever was so that should tell you something

W/O 70% FT shooting there can be no killer instinct

Nash/Kobe/Kareem are gonna have to teach him to shoot 1st.
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!
