Most Ebanks production came at SG though with Kobe out, at SF he goes those after long periods.

I wouldn't be opposed to having Matt back because of the options it gives us if Blake, Meeks, or Ebanks doesn't play well. He could realistically cover ay of their minutes if they got hurt with the other two moving up or down a spot. Matt also was out bench last year basically so he was bound to get hurt when he was e lone regular contributor being milked

Barnes said his people were talking to the Lakers among others,

For the minimum he is a value BUT Ebanks will never develop w/o minutes. And Ebanks will surely leave if we don't give him burn this season.
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!

Give is the keyword, not earn. Ebanks hasn't earned minutes yet, especially not to keep for any extended role. If he has to be given them, then he doesn't deserve them and should walk.

He has earned his minutes, Mike Brown just doesn't know what he is doing. Are you telling me Steve Blake has earned 24 mpg?

Earned isn't the right word to use. Are you telling me that LA had another PG that should have reduced Steve Blake's minutes? Blake was every bit as good as Fisher their 2 years together. If your PG corps is Fisher, Blake and a late 2nd rd draft pick in Morris where exactly do your minutes at PG go? Think things through sir

Mike Brown doesnt know what he's doing but you do? What exactly could he had done with that makeshift roster they had last year. Josh McRoberts and Troy Murphy off the bench? Mike Brown did what he could and LA still made it to the 2nd round atleast. Give the dude a chance. Phil Jackson is long gone, get over it.

I'm not referring to losing in the playoffs, i'm referring to giving Ebanks less minutes than Steve Blake. And I'm not paid to coach so no I can't. It's not my professions. What kind of question is that? The whole point of this forum is to discuss basketball. NOBODY here knows as much as nba coaches, so under that logic we really shouldn't even have a forum here to discuss anything? I can comfortably say I know much less about coaching than mike Brown, but I can comfortably say I would have made the better choice in letting a young sf with potential have some minutes in hopes he develops into something over a washed up pg who is one of the worst in the league. I just want Brown to give less minutes to Blake in the rotation to free up a few more minutes for some of the younger players on the Lakers. Ebanks showed he can play minutes as the starting sg.

Don't see why you can't take blake out of the lineup and put ebanks as sg, with sessions as pg. Ebanks was servicable at sg when kobe was out. At least you can try against sub 500 teams and figure something out to help him develop. That's how you can reduce blakes minutes and see if you can get ebanks to develop. I'm not talking about running with this as your main bench lineup, but you gotta be creative a little with the minutes. Look what it's done for the Heat having random people at random positions once in awhile to help players get more minutes that deserve them.

You know Blake avg the bulk of his minutes when Fisher was on the team right? You also know that his minutes went down when Sessions came. Sessions didnt play well in the playoffs either so who would run the point if he wasnt in the game? Blake dude.

do you think he would accept a 3rd string role

I want to see Ebanks and Earl Clark get a chance but I would like Barnes back as 3rd string for insurance, who knows he might even stay healthy

Devean George, easy. 3 rings, was a starter at times with Kobe, Shaq, Payton, and Malone.

Why? He hasnt been exactly good since he left. Actually Artest has been more productive excluding the first half of this lockout season. As I think DEEP said before, alot of us overrate the impact Ariza had. His numbers dont lie the guy isnt all that great.
