I hope he weighs more than the 231lbs he's listed at on raptors.com.

231, 6'11" is damn skinny.

I'm guessing he's closer to 245, but who knows.

What the hell are you talking about? Most people thought those guys were drafted too high, except maybe for Darko (most people had him or Melo ranked #2).

And why are you against being high on Jonas before he plays a single NBA game, yet you're so sure about Drummond?

He was weighted by Raptors staff summer at 248

No they don't.

there are not many times when i would wish to be a mod, which, apart from the free hookers and blow is, i assume, a thankless task. but seeing straight to the heart of each new account by a banner poster must be one of the perks...

None of these arguments matter, Jonas is handsome man from Lithuania. This cannot be denied.

And yes, almost all analysis ive read about Valanciunas says he isnt an explosive athlete. I think he is an above average athelte in Europe, but not very athletic in NBA

So you got your legit source from a photo shoot? And where are your proclaimed "analysis" sources of proving Jonas not having athleticism? Anyways, an IP that matches banned posters. No wonder why you were banned before.

3-4 inches "tops" would make him 6-10 to 6'11...with a ridiculous wingspan so I'm failing to see the problem here.

Not to mention there's footage of him guarding the likes of Noah (listed 6'11), MGasol (7'1), Dirk (7'0), Kaman (7'0) and if anything he looks to be basically the same height as most of them but actually slightly taller than Noah nvm being able to defend them well...so again not getting your "point"

There was an interview for a local radio show today with Valanciunas and he confirmed that he's heading to Toronto this week (Saturday, to be specific), Also, he claimed that he gained more than 26 pounds since the last November. He mentioned that he's working out with trainer on his strenght. So that's the update so far.

26 pounds since last November...

He was 231 at the time of the draft

Let's give him 10 pounds gained (generous) to last November...

So that would equal ~267.

I can't tell you for sure that he wasn't exaggerating, because it's a bit hard to believe, but if that's really true, then this is definitely great news!

Gaining 26 pounds in 9-10 months for a guy of his size isn't that far-fetched, of course only a fraction of that added weight is lean muscle.
If you want to try to measure the elements of basketball that are supposedly unmeasurable, spend a game just watching Marc Gasol.

Adding 25 lbs is a lot... that's more than a 10% gain. And he did it while playing basketball almost non-stop.

Take your weight and times it by 10%. Do you think you can gain that 10% in a year while being a professional athlete (barring the likes of Eddy Curry and Co.)?
