Gallery & Thomas Retire

Post#1 » by BIGGIEsmalls 23 » Sun Aug 5, 2012 9:40 pm

Devin Thomas retires at 25yrs old:
Chicago Bears receiver Devin Thomas announced his retirement Sunday via a message on Twitter, and the team confirmed he indeed has called it quits.

"I have decided to retire from the NFL," Thomas wrote Sunday morning on his Twitter page.

Thomas sent a subsequent message on Twitter in what appeared to be an explanation for his decision to retire.

"God has blessed me (with) achieving a childhood dream," Thomas wrote. "I want to give back to my hometown and coach/mentor kids so they can reach their own."

Robert Gallery retires at 31yrs old:
Robert Galley has retired from the NFL.

Gallery signed with the Patriots after spending the 2011 season with the Seahawks.

Gallery was the second overall pick of the 2004 NFL Draft by the Raiders.

Gallery was the only player selected in the top-eight picks of 2004 that never played in a Pro Bowl.

Both seem young to be retiring. Football puts a hurting on the body though.

I was really surprised by both of these decisions, I guess it just goes to show just how physically demanding this sport is.

Gallery was not doing well in camp, probably retired as much to save face as save his body.

Thomas spoke the truth about his reason, he's been very active with youth football dating back to college. Genuine good guy.
