The Lakers Have Evolved....Time For Fans To Do The Same
I only created this thread because over the weeks since acquiring Dwight, all I've saw here and on the GB is "Bring back Phil"...."Will Brown be fired if Lakers fail". This has to stop, it's stupid and it's clear some guys just can't move on.
As great of a coach as Phil is he's not coming back, hell we didn't win the last 2 seasons with him on the bench.
But get over Phil, he ain't coming back. Time to move on because the Lakers have and it's time for fans to do it also.

Phil should totally come back, since our center Shaq already knows the triangle!

Re: The Lakers Have Evolved....Time For Fans To Do The Same
I'm not overly enthusiastic about having Brown as coach but he deserves a chance to show what he can do with a full training camp and a roster with pieces that fit together much better than the pieces he had to work with last year.
Add Ron Ron being in better shape, Dwight's amazing defensive presence and Nash's ability to run the pick n roll in his sleep and we should be able to be successful with just about anybody coaching the team. Deep3 could probably coach the team to the best record in the West..
The lEast is so damn soft with Rose likely being out for a majority of the year. This is going to make it almost impossible for a Western Conference team to keep up with Miami for best record in the league and have home court advantage in the NBA finals. I wouldn't worry about this much except for the fact that Kobe has never won a championship without having home court advantage in the NBA finals.

Re: The Lakers Have Evolved....Time For Fans To Do The Same
My two cents for Deep.
I think some of the criticism on Brown is joking 35% of the time.
At other times, it comes down to the best option as Lakers coach. Phil has brought the Lakers championships after Del Harris and Rudy T. You have to admit, Phil Jackson is ten times the Coach Brown will ever be. Not many, including myself has much faith in Mike Brown since he's not a good offensive coach that draws up plays. The pressure is definitely intensified for Brown to win the ring.
Del Harris had a hell of a Lakers team even with a young Kobe. He couldn't get it done. Once Phil came in and was able to manage egos, he won rings. And the fear that Phil would ruin Steve Nash with the Triangle is dumb. Even when the Lakers ran The Triangle, it wasn't 100% all the time. Most of the time it was give-Kobe-the-ball offense.
Steve Nash has a high basketball IQ. High basketball IQ players excel with the Triangle and he will know when to run it or do his own thing. If Luke Walton (pre-injury) could play within the Triangle, a player like Steve Nash should thrive in it. Oh and Steve Nash can shoot the rock.
No ring in 2012-2013, Mike Brown is out. If Phil is healthy, and shags Jeanie Buss hard enough to convince Jimmy to get his future brother-in-law back with the team, I'm sure Phil will be in consideration once again.
Mike Brown, "Challenge accepted."

Would we be better off with Derek Fisher as our backup pg than we are with either Blake or Duhon?
Sorry, not sure why this thought entered my brain.

I think Fish is done playing wise. Father time caught up to him.
Having said that, yes I'd take Fisher over Blake and Duhon.

I agree. Fish is just as bad offensively as Duhon and Blake and better defensively imho. Also, if Fish had been in Blake's shoes when Artest inbounded the ball in game 2 I believe Fish would have made that shot.
