Rodgers pissed me off at the end of the half

Akers freak FG pretty much completely on him

That score is on Rodgers. If he slides on 3rd down, the half is over. Instead we effectively called a time out for them after both of our downs.

Including the running play that we couldn't stop so Bradshaw ran out of bounds.

That's easy to say in retrospect. He's just thinking about making a play until the last nanosecond and then getting rid of the ball and avoiding a hit at that point. I think you can criticize him more for not seeing the open man as he's done uncharacteristically often this game.

That play is indefensible. Rodgers was being chased from behind. He could have just slid knee first and forced them to take their last TO.

:o

US men's soccer is as frustrating as the Bucks. They will beat the Italy's, Mexicos, Lakers, and Heat but crap their pants against the Bobcats and CONCACAF.

Need at least 3 coming out of the half though I wouldn't be surprised if SF tries an onside kick.

I'm expecting a 3 and out. Why pull shenanigans like an onside kick when you have arguably the best defense in the league?

I gotta say that a 9 point lead for the 49ers is probably as formidable a lead as there is in the league. I don't have a good feeling about the game. Our offense has epitomized 'meh', and our defense can't stop anything. Jarrett Bush has been classic Jarrett Bush. I can't believe he is starting.

I disagree

Akers may of made a freak kick but thats only because the defense stopped them there

Rodgers left them a ton of time with a timeout, they could of done more

That would be a reason to do it. The likelihood of giving up points is lower with a better defense. The reward of recovering the onside kick and deflating the Packers is great.

Because you have the best defense in the league and can afford to take that kind of risk, IMO.

If our defense doesn't create at least one turn over in the 2nd half we'll probably lose.

Referring to it as indefensible is indefensible. He's trying to make a play and not get hit, down 6 points at that time. He's not thinking about the 49ers getting a long return, making a big play, and hitting a 63-yard field goal, all in the course of 20 seconds.

It's hard to create turnovers when you play 10 yards off because you're terrified of Alex Smith taking you deep.
