PGT: 49ers OVER Packers 30-22

Turrible way to start the season. At least the defense and offense both looked better in the 4th. Then again, the 49ers got pretty conservative.

Hopefully this fame will serve as a wake-up call. Both for us, and Goodell to get the real refs back here.

Still having a chance to win after playing poorly for most of the game says something, but I didn't like getting cute on 3rd and 1 again and the awful clock management to end the first half.

A big win over Chicago on Thursday would do a lot to assuage my anger.

One of the worst weekends in Wisco sports in a long time.

This was definitely the worst reffed game I have had a chance to watch. I watched preseason games for multiple teams, and I watched both of the available noon games, and I didn't see blown calls like I did in this game. You would think for the most competitive game of the first week that they would at least have the best of the replacement referees.

The funny thing is that I didn't even want to use the refs as an excuse, but that facemask at the end of the game set me off. I was okay with the innumerable missed pass interference calls, but having a guy leap and pull our MVP QB down by his facemask make me snap. Rodgers was the reason we were losing at that point, but he was putting together a strong drive to try to tie the game.

Good formation using Cobb as a flanker. He looks a lot like Sproles in that particular package. Jennings and Nelson were pretty much shut down, and they were able to stop us in the running game using only 6 in the box.

Hopefully we come to play on Thursday.

Also Clay Matthews looked incredible while Perry looked pretty lost. I think I only saw 1 play where Perry legitimately made pass rush pressure.

Looks like Rodgers is going to have to wear a Smith jersey this week.

We are technically alone in last place in the divison. But the Bears played the Colts, the Lions played the Rams, and the Vikings played the Jags. And the Vikes and Lions struggled a lot enroute to their W's.

I'm strangely calm right now. The last two years have taught me, it's not how you start, it's how you finish.

Middle of the D looked a lot like last year. Good to see Cobb and Finley active, I think the O will be dominant as the year rolls along. I still have no faith in the D to get stops.

Pretty early for a must win game, but losing to the Bears on Thu would not be good.

And Goodell, get a goddam referee deal done. This league prints its own goddam money.

Agreed. I think you saw everyone come to life at the end of the game. I expect we will see a totally different team in week 2.

Think I wouldn't mind seeing more Moses and less perry.

I feel the same way. Im disappointed they didnt get to OT, but its not like they lost to a scrub.

Co-signed. Upset we lost, no doubt, but feeling pretty good.

And yes, those refs are **** hideous.

Worst thing is complacency and when they review the tape, hopefully they can make adjustments/substitutions on defense to improve the squad. Then again, Hawk has continued his longstanding tenure at MLB so I really don't know what I'm hoping for.

In short, can Casey Heyward be any worse than Bush/Shields? Similarly, McMillian over Jennings please.

Winning a Superbowl as a 10-6 team and not winning a playoff game as a 15-1 team will give you some perspective on how long the season is.

Last place in our division after week 1. Out defense is really not any better than last year. If our offense was average, we would be a 3 win team.

MM didn't get cute. Jordy was running a clearout deep route for underneath guys. The play was designed to go to the backside WR, Finley over the middle, the RB running strongside (I think it was Kuhn), or for AR to run for it. Instead of going to Finley over the middle, AR threw it deep to Jordy in double coverage. That was absolutely, 100% not the first read. That was one of many misreads by AR today.

Fox actually showed a nice angle from behind the QB that showed Finley breaking open for the 1st while AR was looking downfield for whatever reason.
