Seahawks need to open up the offense. I think they are trying to play it safe to protect Wilson

Great return by Washington. Seahawks need to score here

If we win, it will largely be because of Leon. He's had two huge returns.

Ugh. Bad intentional grounding there...don't push yourselves out of FG range...

**** reactionary replacement referees. Every time the WR looks up with his hands out they throw a late flag.

The defense was caught flatfooted after Kolb came in

Kolb just picked us apart. Wilson has just under five minutes to lead this team to a TD drive of his own. If he can't do it and we lose, well...this is a deserved loss. Frustrating game.

And this heartbreaking mess is finally over. I decided to wait a few minutes until posting when the game ended because I would have probably said something inappropriate.

I'm sure there are some positives to take out of this one, but there's far more negative points than anything else. The offensive line was a sieve, the defense collapsed on the most important drive of the game, the best play call Bevell could come up in the red zone was a fade route, the penalties were out of control, Okung appeared to injure his ankle AGAIN, and both Baldwin and Edwards dropping game-winning TDs at the end.

Well I just got back from a Seahawk game-day party.

I have to regain my composure to post though, and a little beer-buzzed. Tough weekend to be a Seahawk and Husky fan. I'll come back to my senses soon.

I don't want to sound like sour grapes here, and I love RW, but I think this is a game that Flynn well might have won for us. Especially in that first half. His quick, short, accurate passing attack would have played better.

Yes, we DID NOT get to the QB anywhere near how I thought we might this game. Very disappointed in that.

And I can't stop myself from saying it: Would Kellen Winslow have made the diference today, especially in that final drive?

I had the same thought, but two things made me think otherwise:

[1] Wilson looked tentative to start, but much improved in the second half. During that last stand, he put the ball where it needed to be twice but his receivers didn't make the plays. Baldwin needs to come up with that ball, and Edwards can't let a pass go right through his hands at the goal line.

[2] Who knows how much preseason is and isn't worth, but I did not think Flynn looked spectacular against pressure in the preseason. Given Flynn's lesser mobility, there's also the possibility that Flynn would have rushed throws and thrown the ball into pressure.

Thinking back to the first half as compared to the second half, I think the thought was the team needed to run simpler plays in order to decrease the pressure on Wilson and it seemed to backfire. The backwards pass that lead to a turnover was preceded by a play just like that narrowly missed a similar result. Those little WR screens weren't working, and I hope the team scraps them until they get the running game and pass protection figured out a bit.

No kidding. Did Evan Moore even make it into the game?

i think Winslow and also Letui would have been helpful.

On the silver lining side:
The rookies are likely to shake off the beginning season neves a bit (looking at you sweezy and wagner)
and it would be a very different week if Braylon just holds on to that damn ball. Hope Golden gets back soon.
