I don't know about you guys but I have a feeling this is going to be Wade's worst year yet of his career.. Glad we have Ray Allen but..

Lebron just went through the Olympics and already he's working out with Durant.

Bosh is training to gain 6 pounds of muscle.

You heard about some of our roleplayers through summer league, and now you hear about Ray Allen putting work in.

And Wade? He's been in vacation in Europe, he's been on talk shows and signing books. I know he had knee surgery (a small procedure on his knee) about 10 weeks ago but I thought he would be recovered by now.

This guy was saying he was going to put work in and finally get himself a shooting coach. I've yet to hear any news about that.

Here is more info on Terrell Harris re-signing with us:

Terrel Harris said turned down offers from teams in Spain and Russia and from Cleveland Cavaliers to re-join Heat
Harris said the deal with the Cavaliers was also for the non-guaranteed minimum of $762,195.

“I have a good relationship with the Heat, and they like to bring guys up through the program,’’ Harris said about re-signing with Miami. "I just have to do my part and go out and make the team.’’

About not going overseas, Harris said, "I really would rather play over here. (Being with Miami is) another opportunity to showcase my skills for a championship team.’’ about an hour ago

Isn't that 700k from the Cavs more money than we could have given him?

I love how even at these lower levels, players sacrifice money to join/stay our team.

Uh, he tweeted pictures of himself working out and working on his shot. I wouldn't worry

mmm i'm a bit worried honestly. dwyane wade is too big - if he were seriously retooling his mechanics like he said he would, it would be a story. if he were going through a "hell week" or whatever like lebron and kd, it would be a story. i think he's just doing maintenance.

Exactly. Wade is not having the offseason I was expecting out of him. Even last year he was doing that thing with the balance. This offseason there's been nothing, just a bunch of book signings and talk shows.

I wouldn't worry, he was just getting a feel on that knee. Besides he still has to put work in for training camp.

Words cannot express how pumped I was when I read this earlier. I was about to do somersaults when he was still on the board before we picked Pitt. I thought there was no way we'd pass up his DeAndre Jordan + offense potential. He's still a long shot to make the team because the Heat favor familiarity (Pittman, Gladness, Varnado), plus has to compete with Harrellson who has played more minutes on a better team. His maturity was also in question two years ago during pre-draft interviews, though it was more of a harmless, naive immaturity than anything destructive. That said, his physical tools and skillset will be extremely enticing. Perhaps if Ira is right that they're looking for a Joel replacement he has a good chance. I'd absolutely crap myself with excitement. The potential of LeBron/Bosh/Hassan up front is ridiculous. So big and long, and all can score. They can switch like crazy on D, too.

If we signed Whiteside and Harrellson, we'd be at the maximum 20:

1. LeBron
2. Wade
3. Bosh
4. Allen
5. Chalmers
6. Battier
7. Lewis
8. Miller
9. Haslem
10. Cole
11. Joel
12. Jones
13. Pittman

non-guaranteed:

14. Harris
15. Varnado
16. Gladness
17. Dozier
18. Temple

in town but not yet signed:

19. Whiteside
20. Harrellson

LOL dude, there've been all sorts of recent tweets and articles about him getting back on the court. He also recently said he's following through with the shooting coach. Just because he's on TV and doing the book tour doesn't mean he can't work out. LeBron's schedule has been even crazier. Wade's had a trainer with him everywhere to rehab, and now train on the court.

Sorry, but this sounds ridiculous. For one, plenty of stars do things like that that don't get widely publicized. Imagine all the things they do we don't know about. We don't even know we don't know about them because we don't know. Secondly, Wade just isn't as publicized as LeBron or those other stars these days.

It's possible Dwyane has paid Tim Grover visits to his gym during his trips to Chicago, even while rehabbing. Its also likely he gets back with Ed Downs (the balance guy) before training camp, as Chalmers is using him this offseason. Wouldn't be surprised if Dwyane goes a different route this time though. Ed's revolutionary band work was supposed to keep Dwyane healthier. Didn't quite work out that way.

...Wade said he now has a shooting coach lined up. But what he doesn't have, at least at the moment, are his legs, having only recently returned to court work following his July 9 arthroscopic knee surgery.

"It's great to get back on the court," he said. "But, obviously, I've got a lot of work to do to get to where I want to. Now it's just taking things slow. We're not rushing through it."

A week ago there was a session with Heat assistant coach David Fizdale, with additional sessions this weekend before heading back out for the next segment of his book tour.

"It's basketball stuff, basketball drills," he said of the sessions, "and doing something different every day, and with my trainer, doing other things when it comes to the rehab part of it, making sure that my knee and my body can get used to this kind of work for games."

By the time he gets to the Los Angeles portion of his book tour at the end of the week, he is hopeful of stepping into games, with several NBA players working out there.

"Right now, I'm trying to settle down, to do something different, to get the feeling back," he said...

He has been doing a lot of promotions for his book, but also remember he cant do much on the court yet as he is still recovering from his surgery. Plus he might not be posting it online everytime he does some training, I think hell be back to his old self in terms of speed and agility and I think hell have an even better shot. Wade never lets us down.

Don't get your hopes up for Whiteside. Dude just doesn't know how to play basketball.

It's a shame because he has nice physical tools though.

ira said in today's mailbag that he had a conversation with an agent who w told him that riles was disappointed by pittman's conditioning. apparently, gladness is ahead of him in the depth chart and miami is considering eating pittman's contract like they did with eddie house.

amen.

Just a sad unfortunate situation. If Pittman had properly improved over the past two years, he could have been a real good piece by this season.

LMAOOOO, how much do you have to fall off to be considered a worse center than Gladness in Riley's eyes? A guy with Pittman's frame should be able to throw his ass around in the post. I am pretty sure even **** Curry would throw around Gladness with ease. Dex has been working on his conditioning for what, two years now?

If Gladness is really better than this guy after two years, then there is no hope for him. At this point then, Whiteside and Harrellson are all better candidates to make the team.
