I had the pleasure of meeting George a couple years ago. Such a nice guy and passionate Bulls fan. I will miss him much. RIP

I remain wholly unimpressed by Matas and would be very upset not only if we trade up fo him, but if we even draft him at 11

RIP Tommy. Very sad lose. I was hoping the title had a different meaning.
To quote GetSeven
With Jimmy at the 2 spot this lineup (along with depth) has the potential to be the best since the Jordan/Pippen days easy.

Oh my god. I hardly exchanged a couple messages with him, if any at all, but I had grown used to seeing his avatar an reading his posts. Sad, sad news. Rest in peace, Tommy.

I don't post often but I read this forum a lot. Tommy Udo 6 was a Chicago Bulls board fixture, I'm pretty damn shocked by this.

RIP George. He was a knowledgeable person sharing his life experiences along with his CBA knowledge.

Sad news. Always enjoyed hearing his thoughts when he would post on the Raptors board. Easily the best 'visitor' from other teams boards we would get. RIP.

I'm in shock. Just logged on a few minutes ago for the first time in a couple of days and saw this. I really, really liked George. We would talk behind the scenes sometimes, and as Mort said, he was a very kind and polite person. Really "old school" in that sense. A few things about George:

He had a lot of girlfriends over the years. I'm sure he wouldn't mind me sharing that with those who didn't already know it; he would talk about it proudly in some of our moderator conversations. Girlfriends in different cities, although probably not coterminously-- "a girl in every port," I used to joke with him. So he had a lot of advice when it came to women, and since he was such an old-school gentleman it was particularly good advice to hear (given that our era is generally so cynical).

He wasn't Jewish, but he knew a lot about Jewish and Yiddish trivia, and that endeared him to me. He would let me know what he knew as a way of reaching out, connecting, in a way that was subtle and sweet.

His mother lived in Chicago. I think perhaps she still does?-- although she was in poor health recently, so I can't remember for sure if she's still with us. He would visit regularly and would always tell us other mods if he was going to be on the road because he didn't have good mobile internet access during those times and he wanted to let us know that he wouldn't be able to help out modding for a little while. What kind of guy is conscientious like that? A mensch, that's what kind.

When he changed his username from bulls6 to Tommy Udo, I was really thrown for a loop; I don't deal well with change. I figured that everyone else would be just as confused as I was about where bulls6 had gone. So I suggested that he add a "6" at the end of Tommy Udo for the sake of continuity, and he did.

Over the years I came to picture him as Richard Widmark, his avatar-- Tommy Udo was a Widmark character in the movie "Kiss of Death"-- and that probably would have pleased him.

Did I mention that I don't do well with change? I'm not doing real well with this one.

If anyone can make a sig banner with the Tommy Udo picture and an RIP tribute to George Zieman / bulls6/ Tommy Udo 6, I'm sure I'm not the only person who would wear it proudly.

From every interaction I had with him, just a fundamentally decent human being. It's easy to be an ass on an anonymous message board; being consistently worth reading and still maintaining an even keel over a period of many years and many thousands of posts is a far more difficult challenge.

Goodbye, George; you were a big part of this site, and it's horrible news to hear this today and realize that you'll be a part of it no more.

He enjoyed your posting of the archive of old Chicago-area TV clips & commercials, TOMSPY (as did I).

RIP, Tommy.

He always had great stories from the Bulls' history. Definitely one of the best posters here. He will be missed.
Sorry for bad spelling.
