Given the fact that they made that defensive decision with Prince and Miggy make you think that they don't look at relevant info like that, Twirly.

#1 is somewhat excusable, you'll normally take a player that you know is overrated/overpaid if your owner foots the bill down the stretch and you don't give up a ton in the trade.

He's alright as a LHP matchup play, especially at DH, though if you re-sign him, you're heavily overpaying him for that duty.

Guys, it's their hitting.

Avila, Young, Peralta, Infante, Berry and Boesch have all been somewhere between below average and terrible this season for the tigers. That's six of of your nine hitters doing nothing.

Yeah, I see that as well. I guess it just doesn't help that you have likely the worst 3B in baseball and close to the worst 1B. Regression from all of those guys, but I think the rotation is negatively affected by their **** defense.

The three division winners from last year seem to have woken up.

Damn. I just saw who the Philles have next..4 game set in Houston. Even if we stay hot we gotta hope they slip up against ****** teams. What do we want from the Cards/Dodgers series ? a split maybe ?

But its fun times ahead that is for sure.

Crazy to consider not only the run that we are on but the Phillies as well.

Remember the series we had against them a month or two back and how underachieving both these teams were? Who would've thought those would be the hottest two teams and would be fighting for playoff spots with above .500 records.

Hell, remember when we blew three games in a row to the Phillies by the score of 7-6? Ugh. One win here or there and we're leading the WC right now.

Hoping the Dodgers go 3-1 vs. the Cards. The Cards have a much easier schedule from here on out (Astros, Cubs, plus their last 6 games are against Reds and Nats who will have nothing to play for by then). The Dodgers play the Reds and Nats, too, but much sooner. And if they gain enough ground on SF, they could force the Giants to pull out all the stops in that final series. I'd easily rather have the Dodgers one game up on the Cards than the other way around.

Yea i think back to that series in Philadelphia. The Brewers easily could have swept that three game series instead of being swept if not for the bullpen. That not only would have us tied for the Wild Card, it would have the now surging Phillies three games behind the Brewers.

I still remember mostly laughing at the time of those blown games in Philadelphia because i assumed the Brewers were dead in the water anyways, plus it would force Melvin to trade Greinke. How times have changed and that Phillies series debacle now really hurts in retrospect.

How crazy would it be if both Philly and the Brewers got to the top of the 2nd Wild Card standings and Philadelphia won it over us by a single game. That trainwreck series in Philly months ago would haunt us even more than it already is.

Remember when some here were rooting for the team to lose so we could get a higher pick in the draft? If we had won some of those games, we'd already be in a wild card spot, instead of now rooting for other teams to lose like it should be. People shouldn't be giving up on a talented baseball team in freaking July for hope for a higher pick in a draft, especially when it's the freaking MLB draft.

I honestly do not remember anyone here ever rooting for losses for the sake of a higher draft pick.
