Forrrest ran out of his Tito "win" crying, and now he gets Chael?

This will be a boring fight, with fake hype.

To me, the ufc obviously wants Chael to win. Dana is a week removed from grouping Forrest with MATT HUGHES in terms of "he should just retire". This would give Chael a chance to beat a big name, former lhw champ, and possibly put him right into the title hunt.

Which is fine from a promotional standpoint and selling PPV's, but Chael has nothing for the top of 205.

If Chael can't finish 185'rs by strikes, what's he gonna do at 205?

I watched everyone gush about this guy against Silva, and it took him under two rounds to demolish him.
(And spent one round laying on top of him doing no damage)

Shogun? Nope.
Gus? Nope.
Shad? Nope.
Jones... (Not even going to dignify that.)
Hendo...won't fight him.
Machida? Nope.

I'm almost 100% confident that Chael Sonnen would beat Gus. If Phil Davis can beat Gus with his wrestling, then so can Sonnen. The only common opponent that Sonnen and Davis have is Brian Stann and Sonnen looked a lot more impressive against him. Phil Davis faced one of the best wrestlers in his division in Rashad Evans and he got owned. Chael Sonnen faced one of the best wrestlers in his division in Yushin Okami, and Sonnen owned him. People say that Gus has improved his wrestling since then, but he hasn't faced any good wrestlers since then.

I'm also confident that Sonnen would beat Shogun and Hendo, especially in a 5 round fight. Shad and Machida I believe that he would be competitive against, and even if Jones would own him, at least he's a new challenger in a division that needs more challengers.

Yeah, Sonnen lost to Silva in the 2nd round, but Silva's arguably the GOAT and it took a completely new move to finish Sonnen. Sonnen has won 5 rounds against Silva, with 2 of those rounds being scored 10-8 by 2 judges and 1 round being scored 10-8 by a judge.

I don't think that it's really fair to compare him to Jalen Rose. Yeah, he'll probably take a broadcaster position after he retires but a big reason why he trash talked is because he wanted to get a title shot. When he fought Yushin Okami they were both ranked top 10 yet they were on the undercard and no one was paying attention to them, so Sonnen started talking. If the NBA operated like the UFC, Jalen Rose would never get to play the best player in a one-on-one game for the belt.

Maynard/Lauzon huh? Wasn't I called out on this board in the last week or two for suggesting that was the fight that made sense? jk jk, ufc matchmaking is usually good, but not necessarily validation for anything.

On first glance I favor Maynard, I don't think he will be subbed. His control is just that good, but then again Lauzon subbed Varner off a semi scramble situation, which is always possible with that guy so who knows. With that said, Maynard's doesn't exactly have the most versatile striking which is something that has been effective against Lauzon in the past. Let's see if Lauzon's gas tank is as good as it looked his last time out.

I realize that most fans don't feel this way, but I love all three fights. I know that I said that it should be Maynard/Pettis, but I'm pumped to watch all three fights.

Boetsch would have fought Okami/Lombard/Weidman all in a row. Hard to think of a much tougher schedule at MW that doesn't include Silva.

Yeah, it's especially wild cos he's been sent as a sacrificial lamb to all those fights...expected to lose. It would be awesome if he won all three and got the title shot.

Of course they'll get injured and it'll be some late replacement, but this card looks great!

This card now appears stacked, when a year or two ago it would have been a run of the mill PPV. Maybe even somewhat disappointing for a year end show (though those have fallen apart in recent years).

It now seems like Sonnen will definitely get a shot if/when he beats Forrest. Will be an interesting post fight interview anyway.

I was watching that fight on the net and it chopped out toward the end and I missed the post fight stuff.
Can someone give me a run down on what Forrest did after the Tito fight?
I saw him take the mic, and I think interview him or something? I didn't really get what was going on and forgot to ask at the time.

The fight went to a decision. I had Tito winning, Tito obviously thought he had won and I'm quite sure Forrest did too. Forrest left the octagon and started making his way towards the exit to get backstage. Rogan was saying "WTF is doing?" and he mentioned that Dana was running after him (Dana said afterward that he chased him down and told him something along the lines of "WTF are you thinking? Get the **** back in there").

Forrest returned to the octagon seemed like he was anticipating a loss when Buffer was about to announce the decision. Surprisingly, it turned out that the judges scored the bout in Forrest's favour. Forrest said some BS about he had thought he won the fight but he wanted to give the spotlight to Tito and that's why he left. It's obviously complete and utter lies because he proceeded to steal Tito's final minutes of spotlight when Rogan wanted to interview him afterward. His excuse for that is that he thought it would be "special" if a fighter interviewed a fighter in his last fight.

It was sentimental for Tito because he said that he was looking forward to Rogan's final interview as Rogan was there after his first fight in the UFC and had interviewed him way back then. Forrest later apologized at the press conference and said he wasn't thinking straight.

Forrest's last fight was so incredibly bad. That fight was one of the more painful things I've ever watched in MMA.
