Saw Stuart Scott use the fumble where Atlanta got the ball but Denver popped out of the pile with it to criticize the refs. I wouldn't have picked that one, that was one of the few plays I thought they did a good job. Ref got in the scrum, yelled "red ball" (you could hear it on TV). That was one of like the 2 plays all game that were called correctly, or at the very least you cannot freak out about.

EDIT: That was the second "ESPN guy said this" comment tonight. I am not living and dying by the 4-letter network's comments, more that I am curious on the agreement of it.

After last year I'm almost glad we are starting off a little slow. In the end there are like 4-5 teams in the NFC that have around the same level of talent. It's going to be which team gets hot at the right time that's going to win it. I'd rather be peaking around playoff time than right now.

Agreed, although looking at our schedule, I'll be very disappointed if we're anything worse than 6-3 heading into the bye. @Seahawks, Saints, @Colts, @Texans, @Rams, Jaguars, Cardinals. It would be hard to find an easier 7 game stretch, really.

Definitely agree with that. Saints and Texans are both possibly losses. We shouldn't lose to any of those other teams, but it is the NFL I suppose.

Seahawks will be a bit of a challenge since that's always a tough place to play. I'd usually say anything goes on the road when it comes to the Colts and Rams... but we all know how Godgers feels about playing in domes.

I can't believe refs are allowed to play fantasy football. That definitely needs to be changed IMO.

This was a nice experiment and the refs did just okay week one, but come on. They were terrible week 2.

Steve Young summed it up best. NFL demand will never go down due to something like this. They can keep sending a message to the refs. Why do they even care if the bottom line is money? Even if the difference was just 10 dollars, if they want the union to absolve, they'll just keep sending the message. Everyone that watched football before will still watch.

I think it's more so the owners who are driving this tough stance on negotiations with the refs than it is Goodell because it's the owners money that pays the refs.
