Atlanta continues to move the ball extremely well.

Matt Ryan with a nice run.

Who is Bailey covering? I think the plan was to have him on the left aka Roddy but if so, Roddy is eating his lunch.

This Atlanta offense is real nice.

Matt Ryan has taken the proverbial next step. This is a different ATL team with the new offensive coordinator and Tony Gonzalez looking like he's 27 again. Very impressed tonight.

I'm only up by 1 point in my league and he has Decker and Thomas, while I have McGahee. Dammit Broncos, don't score here!

Excellent conversion. Third times a charm for ATL.

Ryan has more certainly been looking good, but I still doubt him, and I need to see him keep his composure during the playoffs. Overall, most underestimated the Falcons tonight, but they have more talent, and yet they have a key injury on defense.

It wouldn't be a real Falcons win without a stressful 4th quarter. First three quarters were beautiful, though. On to San Diego...

They needed a change. too many early round or first round exits. Attacking down the field with the weapons they have is a logical next step. heck, if they didnt with those receivers, they should fire the coach immediately.

Mike Smith reminds me of a ventriloquist dummy. He always looks like he's smiling even when he's pissed off. Plus his cheeks are always red, lol.

Just read the $.10 from Risdon article for week two.

Jeff, why no mention of the SF-DET game? You always seem to put in a Lions tidbit on us, as you are a self-acknowledged Lions fan, and yet you don't mention them getting beat up by the Niners, arguably the NFL's best team. I would've thought that amongst your other game reports, you would've put in some ink on one of the best matchups of week 2.

Not to ride you too hard, but could this be a case of you not wanting to spotlight the success of SF after you failed to give them much credit in your preseason rankings?

Only 10 spots, 1 is for college/draft, 1 is for quickies, 1 is for non-football, 1 is for Thursday game, 1 is for awards. Other games/stories struck me as more interesting this week. NYG/TB finish, ARI in NE, the Saints collapse and the refs were far more important, and the concept that TEN is throwing away a season on Jake Locker fascinates me. The Lions game actually went down almost exactly as I thought it would, not very dramatic. I haven't even watched the 2nd half yet to be honest.

Okay, thanks. I really appreciate your writing so was looking forward to a Niners synopsis! I guess we won't get one in the coming weeks since their opponents are pretty underwhelming with Minnesota, NYJ, and Buffalo. Although the Jets game could be closer than expected due to two long haul away games in a row. But if the defense plays up to par they should decimate the Jets paltry offense by just clamping down on their run game completely.

Quick question: Do you think the NFC West is underrated this year? AZ has a VERY strong defense, SEA is nearly a lock at home against 90% of the league, and the Rams look pretty potent on offense as long as Sam Bradford can be protected.

NFC West is better than three of the four divisions in the AFC but you'll never hear that from ESPN. The Cards D is so good; if they were the Jets or Ravens there would be two-hour specials on NFL Network for how awesomely impenetrable they have been for the last 10 games. And Seattle's D at home might be better than them. And the Niners might have a better D than both of them.
