Obviously it is not a good thing that you have to bring back a wide out you cut, but that was likely a financial thing anyhow and needing Winslow a week or so after he was too much of an injury risk is even more suspect but it is big on name recognition.

If Winslow is in shape he's a Hernandez lite. He can fill in until Fells is ready to go.
As for Branch, I don't get it. He's the 4th receiver and adds nothing to special teams. Unless they are going to use him as the starter with Lloyd this move puzzles me. I thought Stallworth might have a shot to come back only because he proves kick returning ability which is something the Pats could use.
Also there was a rumor that the Pats offered Brian Waters a significant pay raise which he turned down.
