Where in LA/OC have possibility of catching sight of a Laker

Post#1 » by Beethoven » Tue Sep 18, 2012 11:10 pm

I know you can see them at the Staples Center, but I am asking those in the know perhaps where one can see one of the Lakers out in the public.
I live in OC and I know that Kobe lives in Newport Beach, but I never once saw him there anywhere.

Does anyone know where any of these may like to hang out on a regular basis or where they go shopping or what have you?

It can even be Steve Blake or Darius Morris. If you know.

Thanks.

I've spotted Dwight about 3 months ago in front of L'Ermitage on Burton Way and Doheny (or was it Rexford?) I was driving to work at 830AM and he was standing there talking to one of the valet guys.

I know that Mitch used to take some players over at Morton's on La Cienega to sign their contracts. My friend has met Shaq over at the SLS hotel on the same block on La Cienega.

If you go to The Bridge on Howard Hughes Pkwy, there's an ice cream shop (forgot the name) and they have a picture of Andrew Bynum on the counter while he was buying some ice cream. The manager there told me that he (used to) frequent the place.

It's a bird, it's a plane it's KobeMan

Just look up in the sky for a shiny red helicopter. That's Kobe's ride.

Dwight needs a helicopter seriously.

Serious? I thought Kobe had either his ferarri or a police shuttle escort to LA from OC ? I might have misread that somewhere. He upgraded to a helicopter now, Im not surprised!

South Coast Plaza, back in the days UCI for Kobe
Manhattan beach for sure for the others, I remember Eddie Jones, Elden Cambell and a few other live on the same block, I think Sasha, Farmar and Walton all use to live there as well during their laker days.

Kobe might have high visibility as an athlete but no way in hell he is getting a police escort from OC to LA

he probably got it here and there if he's running late but not every game and besides if he doesn't leave early enough from OC it wouldn't matter if he had a police escort, it wouldn't help him much with LA traffic.

Exactly I agree with you. I used to commute to Torrance every day for work for 3.5 years from Sand Canyon on the 405 (Irvine spectrum area) and it was HELL.

When did Kobe hang at UCI? I went there, and the most popular pastime was not being on campus if you could help it.

I've seen him at the Red Robin there twice. I guess he loves his bottomless fries.

Around UCI for sure. Usually at the in n out after home games, probably after wins. Goes through the drive thru all the time. Friends were behind em in line and started chanting "MVP", Kobe paid for their food with a bill. They got his change, he parked and they gave em the change/took pics with em. Lol he was wearing all Kobe gear except Jordan shoes.

Also you see em time to time at the coffee bean next to UCI.
