Rich People Selling AEG.. psych not any more (UPDATED)

Post#1 » by Rox_Nix_Nox » Wed Sep 19, 2012 7:33 am

AEG, owner of the Kings and Staples Center, is up for sale
http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-a ... 1874.story
The entertainment Goliath behind Staples Center and the Los Angeles Kings has been put up for sale, a move that could reshape the face of sports ownership in Southern California.

"This will be a massive deal," said Marc Ganis of Sportscorp. Ltd., a Chicago sports consulting firm. "Arguably it'll be the biggest sport-based transaction in history."

nothing on this? When I read that STAPLES was being sold i immediately hoped that somehow the Lakers would buy it. First thing they'd do is kick the clippers out.

& Why does the wiretap have a picture of Jeanie?

Would be weird if rich people sold AEG to poor people.

Or if poor people owned AEG in the first place

Kicking the clippers out wouldn't be a sound financial decision.

They kick the clippers out & keep the kings. Fill in the clippers with concerts, shows, whatever (Sprint Center). And what STAPLES goes from being the most profitable/busiest arena to ordinary but still profitable, about where most arenas are. ?? OMG NOOO!

Any way the Lakers buying STAPLES center probably isn't happening.

do you know how much Clippers pay for access to Staples? honest question though, but If they were never there to begin with I'd be ok but if I had to guess kicking out the clippers would cost you high double digit millions a year. I wouldn't do that if if I was a billionaire, more side money for hookers and booze :D

Probably a good idea. They're definitely selling very high.

Lakers have one of the cheapest arena deals in the league because we share Staples w/ Clipps and Kings and tons of other events (Grammy's, cconcerts, circus...)

AEG is for sale because the Kings won and their value os at an all-time high, because of the crazy Dodgers sale price and to raise the rate on Staples. It is actually bad for our Lakers.
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!

Not even close, last year the Lakers were the highest valued team in the NBA.....$900 mil or so ( not exact figure ), and they actually pay NOTHING to play in Staples.

i'm not sure about the concept of rent, but i think it involves an exchange of money for use of facilities such as an arena and practice venues
