By the way...I thought it was summed up perfectly when VC4P called them "boss"....a 1950's expression to describe cool.

There is retro...and then there is just plain old! Find black and white photos of High School teams on line from back then and you will see a lot of this look. So it goes beyond Retro! If they bring back the shorts with the belts and the canvass converse...we will have gone ALL THE way back to a time when these were in fact BOSS!

Look...I am obviously disappointed in the jersey design... but overall really happy we are finally here.

I was the first one to say what a great move this would be YEARS ago when Ratner bought the team. You remember all the debates I had telling others that moving to NY was going to be trans-formative in every way? This board was mostly outraged! Ratner was despised. Blamed for nonsense things. And so many were crushed at the idea of the move that they could not see how valuable these 20 miles are. Well...we are finally seeing it.

I said then...by moving it would increase our fan base massively. Which will increase our revenue opportunities. Which will attract big time investors. Which will support a much higher payroll plus extras. Which will add swagger which will make us a team that for the first time players around the league WANT to come to. That they would seek out us.

And this year we saw all of that happen. Dwight screwed himself which could have completed the puzzle of being a true contender...but we have all the pieces in place to become one finally. And for now...we have a great product.

People are excited. That's great! So big picture? While I am guessing we could have come out with purple and green polka dot uniforms with retro John Stockton shorts and they would still be selling so early on in the process... that's a good thing not a bad thing. It speaks volumes. So if the next generation of fans love the new design...so be it. Its the next generation of fans that will take us into the next level. We arent going to recruit waves of Nix fans over 30. Sorry...I dont see it. Not that the casual fan wont root for us. They will. But the die hard? No way. At best they will wish us well and say its good for NY.

So its about the next generation. If the younger guys like the look....hey that's good enough for me.

And you know...I did like the warm up jackets. I would get one of those! Hopefully they will improve the logo in the coming years...make it more 3D. And maybe they will do more stuff with the full Brooklyn logo the one with the white ring around it that they used as center court. I think that adds a lot to the plain B.

I will try to scale back my whining about this topic now....lol. Glad you guys are so happy.

Dude, all you need to realize is that peeps these days pay hundreds of dollars to buy these "retro" jerseys from back in the days. It's cool to wear the old school plain-looking jerseys.

Well, the Nets are going to be the 180 of that! Our current jerseys look "retro-cool", and our "retro" jerseys will be like the current ones!

But I would say to you that the idea of retro works as an alternative sale offering. Not as a the main look. Players mostly drive jersey sales. We know that as fact by any analysis of any year of who is selling. But...a tweak like adding something new once in a while is why we see teams every year doing something retro or alternate colors, or adding "Los" in front of the team name like they did last year for a few teams.

We'll see how they play this out for alternates.

From the start, they said that they were going to unveil the jerseys in "September" and a few weeks ago, I believe they confirmed the date to be September 28th.

Those jersey's looks really nice I don't like wearing NBA jersey's because they tend to be too loud or just plain ugly. However, I like high school style jerseys just like those. I just hope the font needs to be a little more thicker.

HS and college from back in the day. Shorts are different. But the simple lines, colors and plain font used for the jerseys? Yes.

They seem okay but I would rather have too simple than laughably loud like some of the jerseys in the '90s.

i was expecting something a little more tough. if this is the actual finished product i can roll with it. i'm just ready for them to hit the floor. at this point they could be wearing target reversible's and i wouldn't care. let's play!
