Spurs working out Fesenko

Post#1 » by Ballings7 » Sat Sep 22, 2012 4:28 am

Kyrylo Fesenko

On the big man front, a source says 7-foot-1, 280-pound Ukrainian center Kyrylo Fesenko is scheduled to work out for San Antonio next week. The Spurs aren't the only team wanting a look at the 25-year-old, though, as Fesenko -- who spent most of last season on Indiana's bench after playing his first four seasons in Utah -- may work out in Cleveland soon thereafter. There have also been discussions with Miami and Atlanta.

Just sign him, my god... about time we at least look into one of the decent role-playing bigs left

This guy is just what we need more of on this team... great size, agile, and is not inadequate offensively. Still young, too.

Not a stats-guy, but does the little things and takes up space and can finish well in the paint! He'll be behind splitter to start, but eventually will see regular floor time over Bonner or Blair.

Great now lets give him a contract.

Ideally, at this point, I'd like to see us add Fesenko, K-Mart, and Derrick Brown (presuming he does well enough) for good added depth of athleticism, size, definite toughness, and some versatility. Then get rid of Bonner :)

IDK if that's even possible, but just my thoughts...

Guess his only issues in being a solid fit would be free throws in bigger games :/

Marc Stein ‏@ESPNSteinLine

Bulls been looking for proven big willing to take non-guaranteed deal now & possibly re-sign in late NOV when tax issues ease. Fes says yes

And per wiretap

The allergy to defensive size continues for this team

Were not gonna do well against LAL's paint game and lack confidence in consistently making OKC a jumpshooting team...
