Jamario Moon wants to join Atlanta Hawks

Post#1 » by HMFFL » Sun Sep 23, 2012 2:21 pm

Free agent forward Jamario Moon believes he’s the logical choice to help fill the small forward void and clearly makes it known the Hawks are an organization he’d like to play for in 2012-13. “Atlanta makes sense to me,” Moon told HOOPSWORLD on where he would fit best. “Danny was the general manager when I was playing for Cleveland and [Hawks assistant general manager] Wes Wilcox was there too. They already know me and what I bring. It just makes sense.”

The veteran forward has been working out in Atlanta during the offseason and says he’s ready to get back on the court and is in great shape.

“All they have to do is give me a call,” Moon said. “I’m ready to work and do whatever the coaching staff asks of me.”

No thank you, Jamario. The Hawks are past giving geezers free meals on wheels.

I'd bring him in for a workout, there would be no harm in that; we have a shortage of SFs and he would be a nice veteran presence in the locker room. He could be a nice addition for the min

Doubt it, the team already has plenty of vets that probably have way more NBA experience than he does (he started his career just 5 years ago at 27) and is focused more on young guys with actual upside for camp invites. Ferry has brought in a lot of player development guys and has talked extensively about utilizing the DLeague, I sincerely doubt he has bottom tier vets that can't benefit from those aspects and won't be of much use to the team in mind.

Who knows, maybe he gets a shot on a ten day or as camp fodder buy I just don't see him fitting at all with the current direction of the team.

Well he wouldnt be the first player that DF has brought in that he knows. Have a SF Battle between Anderson, James, and Moon and sign 2 out of the 3

I believe that it would be a good Idea. we need a more athletic SF that can atleast keep Lebron infront of him sometimes. and I bet Lebron won't be so quick to try and dunk on Moon either. not with Josh, Moon, and Horford blocking ability.

Teague/ Lou Will
Devin/ Lou Will
Smoove/ Moon
Horford/ Ivan
Zaza/ Petro
Morrow
Jenkins
Krover
Mike Scott

with Teague and Devin both starting Smoove will not have to handle the ball much if at all except when he is catching and dunking or catching and shooting a jump shoot.

Sounds really good. I love realgm people think about the positives here instead of bashing him so quickly.

sure, why not bring him into champ and just let him, Damion James, and Anderson battle it out for the last spot.

Jamario Moon has a low IQ for the game from what I have seen over the year. I hope we pass on him and pursue another option .
