Post#1 » by TarktheShark » Mon Sep 24, 2012 2:04 am

Currently we have 17 guys under contract..

Usually we bring in 18 to 19 guys into camp

Is there anyone worthy of a training camp invite?

Here is my list

SF/SG
Michael Pietres
Bill Walker
Tracy Mcgrady
Michael Redd

Pg
Jonny Flynn
Josh Akogon
Gilbert Arenas

Who else would you guys invite?

I think they should get the rotations set and not worry about bringing in players with no chance to make the team.

Pietres I think wants MLE type of money. 5 million a year. McGrady...interesting name. Not the player he was the last few years. But he might get an invite by someone. Flynn is young. He will get a roster spot if he is healthy. Just not on this Lakers team. But should be fun to see what happens.

I dont see why any of those guys would come to a camp invite when LA already has about 12-13 guaranteed contracts on deck with the minutes pretty much set. The only question they have in their lineup is whether or not Blake of Duhon will log the backup PG minutes and if Earl Clark can play the 3 better than Ebanks. They arent going to sign Tmac to ride the pine and play about 20 mins total on the whole year.

Arenas? I like him better than Blake or Duhon and he could play some 2 if we needed him to......

MICHAEL PIETRUS!!! Why isn't that guy on a team? Plays D, hits the Open 3, Played with Nash... why not make a run? We need D at the 2/3.

Where does he get minutes? People say we need D at the 2/3 but guess what Kobe and MWP will log 70-75% of those minutes. How effective can Pietrus be on D when coming off the bench playing 12-16 MPG? In the close games you think he is going to defend better than MWP or be a capable scoring option in place of Kobe because he can play D? Think this THROUGH?!
