Sabonis, please email me after you pick next time.

My suggestions for next season:
1 - start closer to the actual season start
2 - use fantrax: draft clock can be whatever you want, sends emails automatically when it's your turn, and draft queues for when you are away; it would ramp up our efficiency and i'd argue would be more convenient

agreed, fantrax is good since you can set the pick time. i'd be happy with 8 hours on there, i'm much more prone to setting a queue up in a draft room, than having to email 3 people a list every time.

Wow, that's early for Jerebko...unless Buser knows something we don't know.

I was thinking the same thing.

1) I think our start time was good. Postponing it one more week could me considered but that's probably as far as we should push it. IMO it is better to have some time on our side instead of stressing out whether we'd able to complete the draft in time for the season. It occasionaly gets already somewhat tense here without that stress and I cant imagine adding a race against the time element would help ease the tension around here.

Furthermore ideally we should try to complete the draft before pre-season starts. After pre-season starts, drafting the right player in the later rounds turn into more luck (ie. whoever was in turn by the time Player X had a good game in a preseason gets to pick that player) than skill or research.

2) Fantrax is an option but it was sort of an additional trophy to hold the draft in the forum that won it last year and I really dont have any problem keeping up with the offline draft. It has been sort of a tradition for BOSF and I frankly dont see any reason to change it. The people who were skipped here because they didnt send a list to one of their teammates would be skipped again there because they didnt set up their queue on fantrax or something. Sending a list and setting up your queue is practically the same thing, with the former taking up probably 30 seconds more than the latter.

Also I dont know about this but can you do trades in fantrax system?

I'm also a fan of our current start/date time for several reasons asides Gokce's. One, it moves at a good slow rate whereby I can prepare rankings/evaluations alongside it. Two, I'd have too many slow drafts piled up at once to be able to keep up with. Three, I've had PM's/emails in the past from members at the cafe commenting/questioning certain decisions; thus, it seems to serve as a useful tool for others.

I understand that in the past the draft has always taking place on the winning forums board. However, I wouldn't vehemently be opposed to moving the yearly draft to Fantrax if it would indeed make this whole process easier.

No big deal, just putting it out there. And yes, fantrax allows for the trading of draft picks.

Then yeah for sure fantrax is a viable option to discuss for next season.

I agree. Maybe we can get Floppy to try it out for his Roto League

Definitely should still revisit it next off-season where the league could put it to a vote along with the fantrax idea.

I sneaked in a few mock drafts for busersports in fantrax. I kept it rather quite in order not to blow my cover :) but it is a very neat system, the only thing to get used to it is queue system as it works a bit differently than yahoo.

My only flaw with Fantrax is when u rewind a draft the queues don't reset. Of course that is mostly a mock tool. Rewinding a real draft may piss people off. A draft on Fantrax would go fast though. Plus real chat is a great tool to discuss trades and general banter. U would have to set ur queues though their default rankings are awful. Bynum at 186?

Ok, that was fun. Royce White and DJ Augustin. I was hoping to get J Rich, but I'll settle for who I got.

See you guys in a week or two when my turn is up again.

I would if more than just 4 of us were paying attention to this draft

I'd argue that some are paying too much attention or should I say contemplating?

Since you do have a week until your next pick, plenty of us wouldn't mind getting your insight.
