October 7 is my birthday i cant wait to see Bradley Beal and john wall together on the court. Should be a good birthday present for me if we blow out the bobcats.

Or the worst gift ever if we lose.

Re: OCT Sun 7 @ Charlotte Preseason Time Warner Cable Arena,
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wiz ... _blog.html
After an extreme makeover – which has seen the banishment of Flip Saunders and three prominent players in the past nine months – the Wizards are certainly on a different course (again). And with training camp one week away, the pressure is on the team’s latest incarnation to prove that this is, indeed, the correct course and fulfill owner Ted Leonsis’s desires to end a four-year playoff drought.
The newcomers appear to be a no-nonsense sort, as opposed to a group auditioning for a nightly slapstick comedy show. Leonsis wrote in a recent blog entry that the “vibe” of the team is quite different from the last two years. “It is very serious,” he wrote. “There are no distractions – and we talk about team now – no more focus on individuals.”
An attitude adjustment was necessary, but so was a talent upgrade. The Wizards have added four more lottery picks in Nene, Emeka Okafor, Bradley Beal and Martell Webster. And they remain youthful, with third-year players John Wall, Kevin Seraphin and Trevor Booker the longest-tenured members of the roster.

Ernie Grunfeld - Press Conference 24 minutes
I'll admit. As much as I defend EG or at least try to be objective without emotion about him, he doesn't have a ton of charisma when it comes to an interview. Kind of Mr Rogers.
His delivery isn't great but I do agree with what he is saying. Its pretty much what I wanted to hear. Starters are not set. Randy has lots of options to mix. Team ball. Still focused on the long term rebuild. Year 3 of the rebuild and a totally turned over roster. Wall, Kevin and Booker are longest tenured with 3 years. Defense defense defense. Break when you can and work on getting better a half court.
I like their chances for the year. Its pretty easy to see how this could work out well. I won't be surprised if they don't hit the ground like a well oiled machine but I won't be surprised if it comes together in the first 20 games.

Owwww
Bookers J is looking pretty sweet. Its just a practice but still.
He did improve his range last year so if he take another step forward with it, thats going to help because he is quick and he can blow by some people. If he can get that first step, I don't think anyone here question his leaps and finishing ability.
And all the better for his versatility. If he can get that part of his game down, he can play some SF if needed.
6' 8", 240 would be a nice add to the SF depth. Specially defensively. C Singleton is 6-8 230. Lots of bodies to through at a Lebron type.

Booker had good range last year, if he can work on his dribble a bit more his ability to drive to the basket will be aided immensely by his added range. Am I the only one that thought Booker looked a little slimmer in that video?

Booker does look slimmer. Maybe hes shedding lbs to compete for minutes at the 3 since the front court is so deep.

Booker might have the best work ethic on the team, while I don't think he could make an easy transition to the three spot, I think he might be able to pull it off. He already has a solid mid range J, if by some outside chance he develops average 3 pt shooting...
Wall
Beal
Booker
Nene
Seraphin
Might be one of the more physically imposing lineups in the NBA. His ability to handle the ball on the wing would be my only real concern.

Yup -- he's going to really help us get the highest possible draft pick next June. No doubt about it.

I'm saying if we bring him off the bench he can play a Jason terry type of role for us.

What a crazy preseason schedule. Only 1 home games.
Well at least the young guns will get some road experience.

Re: OCT Sun 7 @ Charlotte Preseason Time Warner Cable Arena,
Note sure where the Okafor thread is but...
Dude seems like a bit of a dork. I have seen a few interviews now and there is just something a little weird about him. He doesn't seem smooth in an interview. Nothing bad really but there is just weird about him. Very serious dude.
Crawford just cracks me up every time I see him interviewed. He has that swaggy P way about him. Then sometimes he will smile and relax and you can see that he is a cool guy. Maybe he is nervous with a camera in his face.
Booker is just so chill but it works for him. He is comfortable in his skin. I really like Book. I think he is going to ball this year. I think we are going to see a better scorer. I like that he focused on the 15 foot shot.
Ves is also pretty chill as well. Young kid.
Singleton is a little weird as well. Another chilled dude that just isn't comfortable in front of the camera.
Nene is always the happy cool guy. He is cool without trying at all. He is smooth and happy. I like Nene.
Beal is amazing. So natural in his skin and in front of a camera. He has all his priorities straight. He will have a great year.
Webster is someone I'm likely from his interviews. He can clearly shoot and he seems to get what he needs to do to be a complete players. I think he is going to become someone that the board cheers for. The guy seems like a great dude.
Overall I like the personality of the players on the team and they seem to all like each other and I'm liking how these vets they brought in seem to fix with what they are wanting to do. They are a much more balanced team now with these new vets. Ted and EG did alright. I think they are going to make a lot of progress even without Wall out there which makes we thing we could see something even better when he returns.
He being out to start the year could be a blessing in disguise. Now everyone has to gel without him which is going to make everyone step up their games. Wall should be returning to an even better team then if he was ready for camp.
