seattle needs to open up the playbook

Post#1 » by lackeyde3 » Wed Sep 26, 2012 12:49 am

dont get me wrong, i love the ground and pound game more than most and i sure do love beast mode... but we have to put a stop to the 3 and outs. run on 1st and 2nd down then ask a rookie qb with no rhythm on 3rd down to make plays every time just doesnt cut it.

wilson was 5 for 10 for 69 yds and a tb in the first half, which says to me they are just trying to hide him in the game, what proves my point is in the second half before the final drive of the game, wilson had ONE pass attempt... 1 ine entire half! there is just no excuse for that lack of touches for a starting qb

This assumes Darrell Bevell has a deep enough playbook to open in the first place. :dontknow:

My guess is that we see a little more 1st and 2nd down passing in the next two weeks. PC has got to know that we're going to need a little more out of our passing attack down the line. The Rams and the Panthers on the road might be a good place to start. If our defense is so good, then take a little more risk on the passing attack against teams not as good as the Cowboys or Packers.

We'll soon see.

Wilson is going to be 2008 Flacco, a flawed young excitable QB who will look great on some plays and look like a 3rd round rookie on others. I think if the Hawks win its going to be a lot of win ugly type of games. Dominate time of possession, win the Turnover battle, convert 3rd downs and get off the field on 3rd downs. I really don't think opening the playbook is going to help with those and I think they're ok with punting his statistics in order to win.

I don't agree with it but I can see what they are thinking.
