Yeah...Struve vs. Miocic is a pretty weak main event, but this should be a good card to watch.
I feel like Bisping vs. Stann main eventing this card would make more sense. Too much for Fuel though?

Hardy vs Sadollah is out of left field, nice match-up though. I really like the look of this card

great stuff.
Tom Watson! Finally. I'm a much bigger believer in him than Mills or Manuwa or any of these other UK street fighters. Includes Kingsbury now:

I agree. The Hardy fight has a really good chance of standing out.

LOL.
Dana just told some fan on Twitter than the reason the card in Nottinghamis not selling out in a 10,000 seat venue is because....they held it in Nottingham, not London or elsewhere.
Insulting home crowd days before show, nice.

Re: UFC on Fuel TV: Struve vs. Miocic (Sept. 29th)
FYI: Canada, Facebook prelims are at 1:30PM ET, main card is on Sportsnet at 4PM ET. Gotta get my weekend chores done early!
I'm excited to see Kong Watson and Manuwa's debuts.
The Hathaway/Maguire fight will answer some questions about both these guys. The Mike Pyle thumping and ho-hum McCray fight is still fresh in my mind, so I've been writing off Hathaway more than I probably should... at the end of the day, he's still 25-years-old 16-1 with some real quality wins. He's kind of slid under the radar too due to injuries and some shuffling near the top of 170 but he's almost as good a prospect as Rory. Maguire's quickly become one of my favourites, has an incredible chin and super slick JJ, craftiness, and fight IQ. Aaaaaaahhhh, bated breath for this one.
Amir takes his overrated muay thai into Dan Hardy's wheelhouse. Another potentially great fight. Sass, Mills, some one dimensional Brit dudes fighting on this card. Will Wiman be stupid enough to take the fight to the ground? Will Ludwig be stupid enough to think his chin will hold up and go punch for punch? Stay tuned.
I have to say that all the main card Brits are really fun fighters to watch. Main event has some division implications, but that's about it. I wanted both guys to get steps up, not lateral moves.

Re: UFC on Fuel TV: Struve vs. Miocic (Sept. 29th)
Stipe and Struve ARE both stepping up the title ladder in the UFC HW division for this fight. Using Fight Matrix as a guide, both of their last opponents were ranked in the 30's at HW worldwide. Struve and Miocic are ranked 11th and 16th, respectively. It's a fair next step in their careers.
I agree about your general thoughts on the card though. Fun fights, but not high among divisional relevance. That said some have the potential to make it near the top in the future, i.e.: Manuwa, Stipe, Gunnar, Hathaway, and maybe even Sass. Sass may be one dimensional but he's a whiz at that one dimension. And he's very creative about ensuring he has an opportunity to take advantage of that one dimension. Wiman could sensibly decide to try and keep the fight on the feet, but still get caught in a flying triangle or heel hook.

Re: UFC on Fuel TV: Struve vs. Miocic (Sept. 29th)
Haha Bern, if Sass flying triangles Wiman he will be my favorite righter of all time and I'm not joking about that. If Wiman gets on the ground he needs to stand up immediately or get to half guard, but I don't see the latter.
Did I read somewhere that Sass was a purple belt btw? Sick.
EDIT: Did a little research, although it isn't clear, it seems like he is a high level luta livre dude. Makes sense.

Re: UFC on Fuel TV: Struve vs. Miocic (Sept. 29th)
I'm actually really looking forward to this. Most of the Brits on the card have some promise about them rather than just being the token local, and they're exciting fighters too. Plus I think Struve/Miocic is an excellent match-up.

That is really cool.

How did the judges score that against Ogle?

Re: UFC on Fuel TV: Struve vs. Miocic (Sept. 29th)
I had Ogle 29-28, and after Kong got a gift split against Tavares I thought it was going to be some home cooking going on. Not the case. Not a robbery though imo.
