Keep in mind that a lot of the American news feeds do pick up on our media. If we make a big deal about something, the American media will pick up on it. If we don't, they tend to care less.

The Toronto media is fairly powerful. We managed to build up the stature of a lot of mediocre-to-decent players over the years on either our NBA or NHL teams simply because our media spent so much time on them.
