2013 NBA Draft Thread

Post#1 » by Dat2U » Sat Sep 29, 2012 7:26 pm

It's guess never too early to focus on next year's draft. :(

I really like Cody Zeller. Nerlens Noel seems raw but also it may be unfair to measure him up with a once-a-decade like big man prospect in Anthony Davis. I haven't seen enough of Shabazz Muhammad to have a real opinion yet. I like Tony Mitchell and Rudy Goubert sounds intriguing.

I'm just not mentally prepared to talk about the draft.

Damn you, Wizards!

Draft Express has a lot of scouting videos up. One of the ones I've see is on Muhammad. Very athletic, left handed kid. Seems to have the competitive drive and the maturity the great ones possess.

I mentioned the names in the other thread, and will restate here. Zeller is a sure thing. He will start and star in the NBA. I think Tony Mitchell will be a stud in the NBA. I like C. J. McGollum a lot. He is NBA-ready right now.

There are around 6 or 7 prospects over 7 feet in this upcoming draft. As a Maryland fan, I think Alex Len won't be strong enough to impress enough to guarantee a high lottery pick. Maybe he'll stay in school.

The Wizards are likely going to want shooter/scorers with great athleticism from this draft. James McAdoo and Toney Mitchell seem like likely candidates. C. J. Leslie was a teammate of Wall's and is a great athlete.

I like the way Doug McDermott is extremely efficient, despite him being a severely undersized PF who lacks athleticism.

I expect the youngest Plumlee will be a beast of a rebounder in the NBA.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

Yup, the timing of this thread seems appropriate.

If we drafted Muhammad, do you think he could play the 3? He's 6'6'' and 225 pounds listed... he'll probably grow another inch or two..

Honestly Muhammad is a freak. In a good way. I want to see his birth certificate (not a birther) because I have doubts hes only 18.

Look at the move at 52 seconds in. Looks like he has a developed post game for a high schooler. Yes I know it's a mixtape. But the kid is a freak.

EDIT-
Feel free to watch this too.

Just dunks, but the kid is crazy athletic.

I think he has enough size to play the 3. I've actually heard that his skill set is a better fit at the 3, although he'd be less physically imposing at that position.

Another name to look for in next year's draft: Tim Frazier, PG, of Penn State. I'm not hearing anything about him but he's a scoring PG who can pass well enough and defend enough to be a solid role player.

Not expecting a high lotto pick. Looking at Tony Mitchell of North Texas, Andre Roberson of Colorado, Mike Moser of UNLV, Plumlee, Zeller, DeShaun Thomas of Ohio State among a few others who caught my eye last year. No clue about the incoming talent.
