I don't think there's that much difference between Love and Wade overall value-wise, but I wanted start building my team with Kevin Love for a change.

The top 6 picks went off the board exactly as expected, but the 7th pick will be interesting.

The settings for this league were copied from a league that has gone for half a dozen years or so from the Warriors forum. I'm not the commish of that league so I don't know what his reasons are for the settings, but I find they work well.

I find you don't need to have specific positions (aside from C) in a roto league like you might in head to head, because no one is trying to tank a bunch of cats in roto. And the deep bench means you get a chance to prepare the depth in your team, and that managers who don't will have problems, since the free agent pool will be thin. In theory this should promote trading, though we all know that can be hard with this group.

You'd be drafting him real high don't you think? :D Now, if there was a player with "Understanding" in his name, then it would be complete.

I'd go for a little indian food here.

Ok, I was wrong. I guess it's not so predictable anymore.

I remember the good old days before basketballmonster.com, when you actually had to know how to build a spreadsheet to rank players well.

I use BBM, but I still create my own spreadsheet too. I just sort of use BBM to way the options, and to make sure I didn't vastly over/under rate anyone. I also use it to hedge my bets on if a guy I like will fall or not...and the drafters in this forum are so good that even those guys don't fall.

I used to do my own, but, on comparing them to BBM it was almost identical. So, I just gave up.

Hey, I've been following the FFL leagues. Could I take the place of Sabonis? I can PM my email info, and I know who I'd take at #10.

This would be an easy transition. Let's let him in and get this draft going

well if u guys don't wanna wait ok then I'm making a pick. damn I hate slow drafts and I have no experience in roto.

btw you didnt have to replace me, you could have just carried on as if I never was in this draft

could someone tell me what exactly is the difference, in strategy wise I mean.

I preferred you were replaced as I already made a spreadsheet, and it would've been a pain to omit a team at that point, keeping it at 13 teams would've been least spreadsheet maintenance.

Roto is different than h2h in this big ways:

- every position gets 82 games.
You don't have to change lineups daily, as after you have 82 games played at a roster spot..you can't play anyone there anymore. You really only need to change lineups to cover for injury, or to play matchups.

- all 8 categories are weighed the same (this league is no TO)
that means if you take a guy like dwight...your FT% being punted can hurt alot worse.

Balance between all categories is the key. for instance, at the end of the season the leader in points will get 13 points, with the last place guy getting 1 point. every team gets their "rank" in each CAT added together, and the team with the biggest total is the winner.

That's the gist, I think.

I can vouch for him. He's in the leagues on the T-wolves boards, and I know him personally. Very active.

Think of Roto as a HTH league that is scored yearly and not weekly. Plus each position only gets 82 games played so no streaming or deep benches required. U can really set ur top 10 guys and ignore ur team for stretches.
The wrongest is always the loudest.
