If it was player over logo we would be happy Lin is no longer on Dolan's team.

Its cause this was a terrible move for the Knicks and the Knicks future that so many are disappointed. This team is headed in the wrong direction again which is why so many are bitching about this.

The jury is out on how this situation will shape up.

at this point it's all emotion, and nothing is established for better or worse.

Its based on last years performance.

But yeah, of course nobody knows how it will play out. You can say it about anything.

That's fine, but you can't base it off last years performance because that was not sustainable, and the makeup was going to change.

We saw two different dynamics involving Lin....one as the top option and the other as a piece but not the main one.

He adjusted well from one to the other, but how that would continue, we have literally no clue.

My point though was in response to the "wrong direction".

That's 100% emotion, with no tangible backing.

No tangible backing? Did last year not happen? How do you know its not sustainable if we have no clue what will happen and if there is no tangible backing?

Right or wrong we can still form an opinion based on what we have seen so far. There's plenty to go by. Its not the first NBA season ever. Otherwise there would be no RealGM.

You didn't even read my post.

What tangible backing proves the Knicks have gone in the wrong direction?

Like i said in the post you obviously didn't read, my comment wasn't based on Lin but the statement that was made.

I read what you wrote, but you are not understanding what I am saying. It applies to my opinion on the Knicks direction too.

I can't prove what will happen in the future, but I can form an opinion on what will happen based what I have seen in the past.

If your looking for me to throw some stat to prove what will happen I can't do it. If anyone could do that they wouldnt be wasting there time here. Its all just opinion man. But opinion based on tangible things that have happened. The Knicks do have a crappy record with Stat and Melo along with a million other things that have happened in the past. Everyone interprets these things differently but we can all have opinions.

This is the best team (on paper) Knicks have had in years...

This is where I am at. The loss of Lin the player still stings, and I will always wish him the best. I'm over it though. At the end of the day, I am a Knick fan, and I will support the players actually on the roster.

That being said, it has left a mark. It's not so much that the difference between Felton and Lin is the difference between winning a ring and not winning a ring. It's that this was a blatant example of Dolan putting something, whether it be finances or personal feelings, over basketball decisions. It is something that is systemic when it comes to this franchise, and something that will always be an obstacle to us winning it all.

We could have had this exact roster with Jeremy Lin on the team.

Pretty much. Besides this team, I'm going to follow the kid, hope he exceeds expectations.

I saw on clutchfans that they actually show scrimmages and some basic plays from training camp. This is something we need the Knicks to do as well. I am not sure why they don't unless its a Dolan thing.

Does Jeremy Lin hold the record for most 100 page threads on the Knicks board in it's history?

Linsanity threads had a few 100 hitters... then the Lin contract saga which had like... 8 in 3 days?????? And now this one.

Over ten 100+ page threads for Lin? lol
On October 31, 2009, against the Kings, a bat descended onto the court causing a stoppage of play. As the bat flew past, Ginóbili swatted the bat to the ground with his hand. He then carried the creature off the court, earning the applause of the crowd.

Aite, so let me pose these statements....

Assembling the exact same squad WITH Lin = team going in RIGHT direction.

Assembling this exact same squad WITHOUT Lin = team going in WRONG direction.

Nothing wrong with opinion, but i disagree with the statement because it's based on opinion.

I hope Lin brings some excitement to the Rockets. Can't wait for him to visit the Garden.

I hope this thread stays open because I'm endlessly amused by how Lin's existence sets grown men's asses ablaze. Pavlov would be fascinated.

Its fine to disagree, but my opinion is not solely based on Lin. It’s the way this team has operated since Dolan has been in charge. Tangible evidence = our record.

I'm visiting this thread for the first time. I'm very disappointed that Lin is gone, but we have to move one! First pre-season is in a week. Let's lock this up and leave the Lin talk to the Rockets board. I look forward to seeing him at the Garden on December 17th.

Or we can keep the thread open to stop a million other threads from spawning. Its not a sticky so why does it matter? I am okay with locking this up if we are returning to the multiple thread thing again. If you think it wont happen again think about the fact that we have 10+ hundred page threads on the topic.

No one is going to compare Lin to when he was at GS

they will always compare him to when he was with the Knicks...

if he is just serviceable for the rest of his career... these threads should die out

if by off chance he becomes a star player or superstar player...

you are going to want a thread like this...
